That should make everyone happy, especially if you have a transition period so that all those wanting to live in the other country can trade places with someone else.
Of course it may lead to future problems as it is a longer border to defend ...

Bastard, I was going to prepare a map like that myself in the next couple days.
Note: you might be able to swing Alaska into Canada as well based on their more liberal marijuana laws. I know it didn't pass, but maybe Canada would be able to "take" Alaska and help the more tolerant types fight the anti-mj insurgents.
Or maybe Canada can get it in trade by allowing Jesusland to pump oil out of the ANWR, in a dual investment setup. It'll dry up in 5 years and then Canada let's the land go back to wilderness.

I had to look for a minute but I see the little dot now. Is that where you live, jar?
Oh, and good one, RAZD!
I've also had similar ideas, myself. Although, I never planned to post them, heh. Thanks for the laugh.
EDIT: Oh duh! Of course it is! I just went to the bother of actually looking under your username and seeing the word "Texas." Sorry about that, jar.

Is that where you live, jar?
Yup. Mile 1 1/4. That works out to be approximately one mile north of the Old Military Highway which was built to patrol the border north of the Rio Grande. The river has moved some since then so I'm closer to two miles north of the river itself.
This is an area filled by Winter Texans, many from Canada. It's not at all unusual to see Canadian flags flying in front of many of the Trailer Parks and Mobile Home communities down here. In fact, a significant part of the population even speaks Canadian.

Well, I recognize the names, but being an Aussie, I'm largely ignorant of the specific geography within the various states. Still, I'm somewhat familiar with the states themselves, and I can do some mean accents...one of my favourites being "The Mighty South."

A lite topic (or is it?) with a pretty worthless title
I think every topic deserves a title that means something.
Might you suggest one for this one?

How about
{A Great Peaceful Opportunity for a World Solution of Massive Importance that Everyone can Agree With and Help to See COME TRUE!!!}?
Political change occurs either by evolution or by revolution. I prefer the evolution path as fewer resources get damaged. Like people.

No, you don't get MI, WI, PA, and MN. Only states where Kerry won by more than 7 percentage points. And we get Alberta and the Yukon.
IL is a stickier problem.

Maps
http://www.marktaw.com/...dia/TheDefinitiveMapoftheVote.html
This is the same website that has the budget deficit info covered in another topic. There had been a county by county red vs. blue map there before (I think) but the page has changed.
The previous sites/cites source is:

One of the higher resolution maps can be found at:
