Please folks, this is a happy thread. Jazzns just offered us some joyous family news. Lets not scare the man with war stories.
Jazz, congratulations, and DON'T WORRY, except about your sleep habits

Don't mind a little debate
Thanks Asgara. I don't mind a little back and forth though. In this case it brought forth a little bit about the importance of child development strategies.
From my perspective watching a few of our friends we saw parents that were complacent have problems with their kids and parents who were the classic case of the modern rabid parent also have problems. We are hoping to slit the difference and come out better.
Here is to creating some war stories.

No smoking signs by gas stations. No religion in the public square. The government should keep us from being engulfed in flames on earth, and that is pretty much it. -- Jon Stewart, The Daily Show

Re: Don't mind a little debate
First time Mom has seven binkies, each sterilized and in indiviual ziplock bags. When child spits it out Mom get a new one out of next baggie.
Second time Mom picks binkie up off floor, wipes it off on the kids diaper and gives back to kid.
Third time Mom say "Get your brothers binkie for him and don't suck it before you give it to him."
Fourth time Mom knows brother's gonna suck it anyway.

Jazzns, I believe you should weigh and measure your children daily for at least the first three years: anything less would be irresponsible. I know that's a tough gig--you'll be glad to know that an extensive battery of cognitive and physical performance tests will only be necessary on a monthly basis. Otherwise, your failure to track and maximize your child's performance will haunt you to your grave.
No parents I ever heard of did this; everyone I know was screwed up by their parents. Coincidence? Your duty is clear.
P.S. Don't try to make a superkid. A well-nourished child is like a weed and will flourish without abuse.

That makes you an anomalous outlier I can drop from my data set.
Jazzns cannot escape my crushing logic of parental guilt. He can never do enough. The man is doomed.
