This is a spinoff of http://EvC Forum: Both or neither. -->EvC Forum: Both or neither., which in my humble, self-evalution opinion, might be the most significant message I've ever posted (Part of previous inserted by the "Get minnemooseus a "Post of the Month"" committee).
Get in on the ground floor opportunity of being a co-founder of Evolution vs. Creationism, Inc.. The corporation will orchestrate traveling seminars on the story of the "Great Debate".
Let everbody know the information about creationism, and the science counter-arguments.
Go to a town, rent a space, and present a series of talks. We could probably get sponsors, and perhaps we could also take donations at the door (dare we sell tickets???)
Science has nothing to fear of the whole of Christian fundamentalist creationism getting wide exposure. The only way creationism can hurt science, is to remain the underground parasite it currently is.

The tour bus
We could have a tour bus, painted up as a giant "Darwin Fish"!

Count me in! I'll donate 70% of the profits from the sale of autographed copies of my doctoral dissertation to the cause (if I can ever find some frickin' maroon that wants a copy of "Conformational Analysis of Some Organogermanium and Organomercury Compounds," or whatever the title really was...). And a bus sounds really keen, too!

Common sense isn't

Sure! It's maybe 120 pages, and they damn sure will fold better than they'll read!

Bump
I was actually pretty serious when I started this topic.
Science and science organizations need to organize and fund a grand evolution vs. creationism tour. A crusade to confront and give creationism all the exposure that will show it to be the bad science and bad theology that it is.

I'd speak, even though I have zero credentials. Barring that I could drive the bus, though I don't think I have the right kind of license.
Barring that, I guess I could, um, hit people or something. Or lift heavy things. (Not too heavy, though.) And I'm in the same state as you - to your shame, probably - so you wouldn't have to take the bus too far out of the way to pick me up.

I think there's a good supply of Christian PhD University professor evolutionists to man/woman the podeum. Heck, maybe would should get Kennith Miller (Finding Darwin's God) his own TV program.

Just so we're clear with the idea - who presents the Creationist side? Creationists? Or do we just debunk their claims?
But I like it. Kinda like the Evolutionist Harlem Globetrotters. The question is, who gets to be the Senators? (You know, the team they bring with them to get their asses kicked.)

I'd be nice to have some commemoration for Darwin Day, (Feb. 14th isn't it?)
