So far all he has ever posted have been spamming e-books and videos.

He has never participated in any threads and simply seems to want to propose new topics.

Adminnemooseus, in message 1, writes: This topic is to supplement the Suspensions and Bannings topic. Here we can track members who have had their posting priviledges restricted, but who have not been totally suspended and/or banned. Admin/Percy at the dBoard 2.0 Release Tomorrow topic:
Admin writes: Anyone who had forum specific restrictions imposed before the release of dBoard 2.0 should be aware that those restrictions have been lifted. The semantic expression of these restrictions differed too greatly between 1.0 and 2.0 to maintain them accurately, and so they were not maintained across releases. This was not discussed between all moderators, only between Jar and myself because he was available via messenger at the time a decision needed to be made. We agreed that there was no one who deserved permanent forum restrictions, and so deemed it appropriate to drop existing restrictions as part of the 2.0 release. Partial suspensions are hard to track - Maybe this topic will help.
As noted by AdminNosy here:
AdminNosy writes: Message 240 Tesla has not shown that he understands how to carry on a rational discussion. He loses access to only this forum right now. It really helps moderators figure out if a topic is disintegrating because of general misbehavior versus someone in particular if the originally non-misbehaving members kept it that way. When everyone is prickly and argumentative and off-topic and personal then it's just too difficult to tell. We have neither infinite time to untie the Gordian knot, nor the wisdom of Solomon. There used to be a comedian who presented his ideas for a better world, and one of them was to arm everyone on the highway with little rubber dart guns. Every time you see a driver doing something stupid, you fire a little dart at his car. When a state trooper sees someone driving down the highway with a bunch of darts all over his car he pulls him over for being an idiot. Please make it easy to tell you apart from the idiots. Source |

randman - Not permitted to post in most all topics. Can post in "The Great Debate", "Announcements", "Proposed New Topics", "Practice Makes Perfect", and "Suggestions and Questions". Randman had some password problems, which were fixed by Admin. At that time Randman's posting privileges were fully restored. Apparently that info previously failed to make it to this topic. Adminnemooseus Added by edit: I've just discovered where the privilege status change was posted, in a reply to a Randman message. See message 116 of the "Changes at EvC Forum" topic. The Admin message there (1/27/08) said:
Admin writes: randman writes: One note: I have not regained some posting privileges to my knowledge. Your forum permissions were structured for Showcase, which we're not using anymore, so I restored them to normal. Edited by Adminnemooseus, : See "added by edit" above.

Congratulations! You get to test out a new feature.
You are now set up such that you can only post a message every 30 minutes. Now let's see if your message quality level rises. In other words, use your messages wisely. Adminnemooseus

Tesla's output during the 30 minute restriction:
http://EvC Forum: Political Prognostication -->EvC Forum: Political Prognostication http://EvC Forum: Political Prognostication -->EvC Forum: Political Prognostication http://EvC Forum: Equating science with faith -->EvC Forum: Equating science with faith http://EvC Forum: Equating science with faith -->EvC Forum: Equating science with faith http://EvC Forum: Equating science with faith -->EvC Forum: Equating science with faith The above do not strike me as being "good faith efforts". Had I seen such the time restriction would have been reduced or eliminated. For now the 30 restriction remains. At the message following the last above cited, Admin has suspended Tesla for 1 week. I checked 6 of his 8 posts, all were unattributed cut-n-pastes from online science news articles.

Just now s/he's proposed:
A challenge to creationist. and
Idiocracy. I think it's "no starting new topics" time, at least until we resolve the above cited PNT's. Adminnemooseus

IamJoseph is slowed to a post an hour for continuing to clutter science threads with gibberish. If these continue as they have been he/she will be slowed further.
See below for the precipitating posts:
