Sleep paralasis?
Is that where you're about to go to sleep(or just woke up), and suddenly you can barely move and it gets all dark? This might sound silly, but that happens all the time to me and it's really annoying. Kind of creepy, too; if you're considering sometimes you hear that howl from all around.
(EDITED IN)
However, I saw the dark figure a few first times.
Okay, so I'm not insane. Except that scary mother fucker keeps telling me things like my life is in vain and that it'll crumble away all that I hold dear, soon after I usually say "fuck you!" and then I can move again.
I probably sound insane by now so I'll stop here unless people really want to delve into madness or anything.

Been there
Just like she should have at a time in Nov '99. But the phone rang from the hospital instead.
I'll be vague unless people really want to know, but a similar thing happened to me last november. Pats on the back if I didn't live over a thousand miles away.

No Pain
Thanks.
The experience of losing someone does help me understand why some would want to believe that there is more than just this life.
I agree. However, as an agnostic Christian I find that either way you look at it it's a good thing. See, if there really isn't any afterlife at all, then they're at peace. If we reincarnate, then they might be that newborn you pass by. If there is an afterlife with a just God, as opposed to a narrowminded one, then the vast majority of people worth missing will find themselves in Heaven, Nirvana, or whatever the individual choses to call it.
That isn't possible for me but I am reluctant to take it away from others.
Same thing here; as someone who people know is going to be a pastor I get confronted with this a lot. I have a little doubt about an afterlife at times, but I can't bring it up when I listen to 8 year olds telling a story about a parent or good friend dying, and then saying they'll see them again. Some people do need that to cope, and that's why I can't take that assurance away.
"There are times when logic must give way to humanity" -Max Brooks, in a book mostly intended for comedy, but that lines rings true about this subject.
Anyway, sorry to pull that into discussion. Maybe this topic is a little serious for this forum?

Re: Sleep paralasis?
My dark figure tried to whisper something in my ear too. I just didn't listen. But I'm kind of curious as to what it said.
Mine still does that; I've learned to not worry much. My personal theory is that it's a personification of your negative feelings seeing as it always seems to say exactly what you don't want to hear at the time. In your case, it probably told you 'there is no God!' or something else of that nature. If you can move your lips to say "f**k off", then it'll go away in my experience.
