Lys, you obviously didn't read the entire exchange between Brian and WT. WT claimed that no other culture recorded their defeats. Brian showed msg 302 of the original thread that a defeat was recorded. WT then responded with
"But the point is the inscription would never of been created without the victory to report"

Brian was just stating that the Isrealites recorded both also. He did not state that the bible should ONLY claim defeats, but it sure seemed that that was what WT was claiming.

If this was NOT your intention I apologize, but it sure seems like it to me.

The issue of recording defeats and/or victories seemed to be a moving goal post by WT.
