I think you need to take a visit to Spirit Lake Edge or get a copy of Austin's video.
I have seen catastrophically transported, near-neutrally buoyant logs with roots vertically settling into sludge with my own eyes on his video!
Your loud laughs are setting yourself up for a big last laugh at your expense Edge.
Your scenarios could easily come down to distinguishing lake sludge from soil. And BTW, the sludge at the bottom of Spirit Lake consists of four feet of bark. Sounds like a rainforest doesn't it.
Keep laughing Edge. Or maybe instead you should sober up and give both possibilities the seriousness they deserve.
