Re: To be fair to Iano...
As for someone saying they know GOD exists, they are simply lying to themselves successfully, and that is very sad. Could you howl a bit louder in your anguish. I can't quite hear you from here...

True. But that wasn't the question.

I said Allah cannot exist. The reason is that God does and he ain't Allah (and I only need to be convinced of that to be rendered unable to answer the question in the manner many desire) How does an agnostic or an athiest arrive at does not/cannot exist

Re: This is scary stuff...
As soon as you close yourself to questioning your beliefs this is the realm you enter. This is simple perpetual-journey-never-a-destination speak. As it happens, arriving at a destination means you can get off and check out the surroundings. There is plenty to be questioned. Just not the destination. Hope that makes you sleep easier.

Not even Richard Dawkins goes so far as to exclude the possibility of Gods existance. It is saying something that you do appear to do so - especially on the basis of something like this.
All phenomena that I am aware of have explanations that do not involve the existence of a god. And the phenomena you are not aware of? Either there are none or there are but you are not aware of them. And the phenomena which you are aware of for which there is no explanation? Cannot exist? Or pretty damn convinced he does not exist? If the latter, then the OP is for you

The question you need to ask yourself is, "Is this the destination, or do I need to stay on the train?" I stayed on until He booted me off. There wasn't much opportunity to question IIRC.

Re: Still no evidence of KNOW
And as I pointed out to you, that is simply not the case with the forum. It can be independently verified. If your own verification is of no worth then what worth the verification of anothers? Zero worth mulitplied by 10,000 is zero worth. God forbid we had to get another opinion before we could know anything.

Re: so many choices
well, with Jesus' God I might stand a (slight) chance of going to heaven, as he did repeatedly say it's what you do that will gain you life. Trouble is he also said what would gain you death. And if your honest with yourself you see that you do that too. Which would leave you in RC limbo at best. Well not really. You can't do that which he said would gain you life. "Do unto others". You can't do it. Edited by iano, : No reason given. Edited by iano, : No reason given.
