I'm working on this problem now. I'll be working on the software while the board is up. That isn't standard operating procedure, but the problem doesn't exhibit itself on my development machine.

I think this is the same problem with quotes that you ran into a week or so ago. I haven't had a chance to fix it yet, but today is looking good.

Problems with IE are hopefully fixed. Please let me know if any problems with IE persist.

Hmmm. One edit annotation. I hadn't thought of that. Maybe that's a good idea, allowing people to edit/expand/augment their edit comments. Hmmm. Something to think about.

That isn't the intended appearance. If you guys let me know which email tools you're using I'll try to get it right for them.

Okay, I've seen what Yahoo is doing to it. I'll see what I can do.

Catholic Scientist writes: I'm using a web based email that I got from the alumni association from college. Its actually fairly crappy so it might just be a problem on my end. I think it's safe to spread the blame around, but can I assume that your email tool usually rendefs HTML email correctly?
I also noticed that at the bottom of the message it says "Thanks for participating and EvC forum", with a hyperlink at EvC Forum that links back to my host emails website but with /dBoard.cgi at the end and it goes to a dead end. Seems erroneous... There's a link to EvC Forum at the top, too ("Hello, Catholic Scientist. Greetings from EvC Forum"). The two links should be identical. I bet the one at the top is wrong in the same way. I set the base href, but your email tool isn't paying attention to it, so maybe I shouldn't count on it, but I'll try some other things first.

Private messaging functions should be fixed. Please let me know if you find any other problems.

When I added HTML to email notification I debugged using Outlook, and it worked fine. It doesn't work so good for some other email tools.
The problem is the style sheet. Many websites define their general appearance in a CSS file called a stylesheet. The <link> HTML tag provides a link to the stylesheet, and this tag appears at the top of all EvC Forum webpages. Of course, you can't see it unless you view the HTML source (right click, there's usually a "View Source" item in the menu). I added this same link tag to the email sent as notification, and in Outlook this works fine, but I've discovered that at least some other email tools ignore the link tag. I'm researching this now and will develop a solution soon.

I was unable to reproduce the problem. Do you recall what the error message said?

Hmmm. I tried again and am still unable to reproduce the problem. Is anyone else having trouble with the general reply button?
I can see the symptom occurring if you resumed an old browser session and didn't hit "refresh" or "reload" and had tried only the general reply, but if the general reply button doesn't work then none of the other buttons should work, either. So I'm mystified. All the buttons are now dependent upon a snippet of Javascript, so you have to have Javascript enabled, and if you have an old browser session then you have to hit "refresh" or "reload" so your browser loads the updated Javascript file.

I also tested preview and submit and they both work for me and for a test account that doesn't have privileges. I can't guess what might be the problem.
Post here if anything else occurs to you that might be helpful. Maybe if others are experiencing the problem they'll post here.
