Who else thinks Slovenia is hiding weapons of mass destruction? It's time we stop tolerating their deceit and invade. Acting as the world's policeman, we must invade!
Added by edit. PS - it's now 2-1. If we manage to get another one in, we might not have to invade afterall Edited by Taz, : No reason given.

You took the words right out of my mouth.
This is why I have always supported an analysis panel that looks at what the cameras capture and decide in cases like this. The slovs were holding tightly (with hands) to the American players and the ref did absolutely nothing about it.

This was the expert pundit's comment on BBC radio:
"I've just seen that disallowed goal for the US again - and not only was there no foul by a US player, there are probably two penalty-kick offences being committed by the Slovenian defenders. Shocking decision." Bad luck. Welcome to the roller coaster of supporting your team at the World Cup. But I think you'll still go through, providing England don't make any more fuck ups.

But I think you'll still go through, providing England don't make any more fuck ups. Strange isn't it? The best chance for the U.S. to qualify for the elimination round is if England wins out, and the U.S. beats Algeria. I still can't believe what I have just seen: What a game! God save the queen.

So what happened that it should've been 3-2?

This was probably a major player in those stakes.

"Calamity" James? Does England not have any goalies?
So for Team USA we need England/Algeria to have the standard 0-0 soccer outcome (boring) then go on to beat Algeria later on, yes? Not that I've become the least bit interested in any of this silliness, mind you. Just asking if my assessment of the situation has any intellectual merit.

No, you need England to win. That gives you a better starting position when facing Algeria.

Thanks, Mod. So let me get this straight, because Bradley was fouled just before the shot was made, the US was robbed of the point?

No, you need England to win. How so? If England wins that gives them 4 points at the top of the group with Slovenia then USA third. An England tie puts Slovenia at 4 with England, USA second at 2 each. Where is the advantage in an England win? Edited by AZPaul3, : No reason given.

We both know the referee hates America. They used the excuse that Bradley was fouled, but then did absolutely nothing about the foul itself except to use it as an excuse to rob the American team of the point.

Yes, you are right, my bad. I though Slovenia had tied their first game. How so? If England wins that gives them 4 points at the top of the group with Slovenia then USA third. An England tie puts Slovenia at 4 with England, USA second at 2 each. Where is the advantage in an England win? Anyway, you were right, it's 0-0. I'm sorry to say this brit blokes, but damn that was some sucky play.

Where is the advantage in an England win? I was rooting for England to win out, maybe my bias betraying me. If England had won, Algeria would be out, and England at the top of Group C. England plays Slovenia next and with a win, and a U.S. win against Algeria, both England, first, and the U.S. second, make it to the elimination round. I see now that after this tie, the US is in a position of win and in, regardless of the other game. This seems the more favorable position for the US. I must have overlooked this earlier.
