What Would You Have Me Do?
I find that non-Christians are more hypocritical at funerals. They'll say things like, "He's in a better place," even though they don't believe in such a place.
Frankly I have found myself being highly hypocritical at funerals.
But given that I see them as social occasions where those that need to hear such things are told such things - I rate my hypocrisy as limited and well intended.
It just doesn't seem right to point out at someones funeral that instead of eternal raptuous joy ("eternal raptuous joy" - WTF! that sounds truly awful to me!!!) I am instead evidentially advocating that they will be nothing but worm food.
What would you have me do not to be hypocritical?

Re: What Would You Have Me Do?
Well your version sounds better than "worm food". But it amounts to the same thing.
I guess it is all in the delivery....

Re: What Would You Have Me Do?
Can it be both correct and hypocritical?

Re: What Would You Have Me Do?
I am married.
But the marriage in question was about as non-religious and low key as one could imagine.
Myself, my "wife" (as it still seems strange to call her) and our 4 guests/witnesses got the bus to central London after the registry office thing, had a swanky meal and that was that.
Our all-but-nothing ceremony was preceded by a gay civil partnership that was much more of a "do".
As for marriage - No difference to my life except in the practical terms that it was intended to facilitate.

Re: What Would You Have Me Do?
We obviously need an atheist marketing machine to advise on such matters.
Like I said, it's all how you sell it.
Sell baby. Sell!

Dude - I will get my cricket garb out if this goes any further in terms of cost.
You have been warned...
