I could use a little Pandora assistance. I've defined a bunch of stations, and one of them is songs of the 1960s. This station plays lots of fun songs, so I decided to try the same thing for the 1970s, but I'm getting lots of kind'a morose music, here's the URL:
The groups I used to define the station are:
America
Billy Joel
Bonnie Raitt
Edward Bear
Gilbert O'Sullivan
Gordon Lightfoot
Hurricane Smith
Jackson Browne
John Denver
Joni Mitchell
Journey
Leo Sayer
Pure Prairie League
Queen
The Band
The Eagles
The Grateful Dead
The Manhattan Transfer
Wings
Can anyone suggest a few groups to improve the mood a bit?

Jimmy Buffet, good suggestion! I also just added Paul Simon.

Hey, it listened to you without me doing anything! It just started playing something by Albert King with Stevie Ray Vaughan on backup. And the previous song was Bob Marley!
Thanks for the suggestions!

Yep, it's played a couple Neil Diamond songs, but the morose ones like Solitary Man and Longfellow Serenade, but that was a while ago. Things seem to be pickin' up lately!

Boston, good one!
AbE: Things are getting better and better - as soon as I added Boston it came up with Kansas on its own.

It picks up the Stones and Skynyrd without help, Chicago I put in the 1960s. Thanks!

Ooh, Abba!
I suppose I could have two 70's lists, "70's Fun" and "70's Hard Rock" or something like that. This one is "70s Fun". I'm coding, so I need to able to concentrate while it's on.

God forbid! That should be on no ones pandora station.
No one's going to pick on Edward Bear?

Re: Edward Bear
What characterizes a musical decade for me is what was playing on AM radio - I was too poor to own a stereo or buy records. Edward Bear had a big hit in 1972 with Last Song. I still remember most of the words.
I think of them as a one hit wonder, so I never heard of or at least don't remember You, Me and Mexico.

Ooh, The Who! Good one!
Fleetwood Mac and James Taylor it is picking up on its own.
Supertramp, Bonnie Raitt and Bruce Springsteen are on the list.
AbE: I put Carole King and James Taylor in the 60s.

Re: Edward Bear
Yeah, the old categorization problem. I settle these staddle questions by asking myself what decade the group's songs that I like come from, but James Taylor, The Who, and the Rolling Stones are a problem for me.
