They can always use the Kyl defense: any news item reported on Fox might "not be intended to be a factual statement."
Edited by ZenMonkey, : No reason given. Your beliefs do not effect reality and evidently reality does not effect your beliefs. -Theodoric Reality has a well-known liberal bias.-Steven Colbert I never meant to say that the Conservatives are generally stupid. I meant to say that stupid people are generally Conservative. I believe that is so obviously and universally admitted a principle that I hardly think any gentleman will deny it.- John Stuart Mill

Check out the O'Reilly clip about 5 minutes in. He says:

Taz writes: The law should clearly state that if you are a registered news organization then you can't lie. And how exactly do you want to register news organizations, or determine who should be registered and who not? What would registration actually mean? Seems like the First Ammendment might come into play here. riVeRaT writes: There is no refuting that liberals (for the most part) head up most of the atv banning type laws. It has always been that way. Those reports on the atc were from CBS news, which has always been liberal/democratic biased. If you live in NY, you just know this. So liberals are behind efforts to ban ATVs. Okay. And CBS is somehow being deceptive or showing a liberal bias by reporting this? Seems to me that either CBS is being accurate and unbiased in reporting what the supposedly liberal anti-ATV crowd was doing, or was showing a liberal bias by reporting something somehow untrue about the anti-ATV crowd. Which is it? riVeRaT writes: Now some of you will look at that web-site and go "omg" while the people with common sense will understand that yes atv's make ruts and trails. No they are not harmful to the forest as a whole. The trails can be moved around so that the growth comes back. Maybe these idiots in the pictures should stop making foot prints because they must be killing something when they walk. But a liberal will look for any reason to have things go their way. To my mind, the public's right not to have their public forests fucked up by Now who's whining about not having things his way? Coyote writes: My "anti-liberal" comments are not an act, and thus are not misrepresentation. Well, then. If the conversation about ATVs, anthrax and .22s is over - Allah be praised - then perhaps you could go back to Message 1, Message 3, Message 109, and Message 135, and give us some sort explanation of Fox News's documented on-air lies. Would you care to go back to Message 143 and actually answer the question there?
No to be hostile at all, Coyote. I am just a bit puzzled. You're sharp as a scalpel when it comes to science, yet you seem to turn in to Buz (I love the old man, I do) when it comes to a political discussion. What you've offered is a book with an opinion, which is not evidence. What you're avoiding is clear documentation that Fox lies. Please explain. Your beliefs do not effect reality and evidently reality does not effect your beliefs. -Theodoric Reality has a well-known liberal bias.-Steven Colbert I never meant to say that the Conservatives are generally stupid.
