MS is forcing users of XP to look for alternatives to IE. Seems to be a very shortsighted way to do business.
At some point MS is going to stop addressing new security issues on XP, and you'll be forced to either upgrade or suffer the consequences. MS doesn't make any money on browsers anyway.

Though they make no money on the browser there is a financial benefit to people using their browser. If there was no financial benefit they would not have a browser.
The primary benefit to MS is realized when you purchase more Microsoft products. There is no benefit to Microsoft if you insist on running XP for the next 10 years, regardless of what browser you use.
