Does public radio have a liberal bias?
Topic had been closed for terminal topic abandonment. Now it's reopened.
A discussion on Minnesota Public radio:
Does public radio have a liberal bias? | MPR News
There is a bit of current news at the recording beginning, and also in the middle.
It's been a while since I listened to it, but one thing I remember is a conservative commentator's example of liberal bias.
There was a earlier MPR (or maybe NPR) story where the CEO of Intel (whose name I don't recall) proposed something along the lines of a 5 year tax moratorium for new businesses. The public radio interviewer asked "Can we afford this?". The conservative commenter cited this question as being liberal bias, as anything proposing reduced taxes is a conservative position.
Anyway, something for you to listen to. The whole thing is 54:08, including the local news breaks.

Despite the commonness of such claims, little evidence has ever been presented for a left bias at NPR, and FAIR’s latest study gives it no support. Looking at partisan sourcesincluding government officials, party officials, campaign workers and consultantsRepublicans outnumbered Democrats by more than 3 to 2 (61 percent to 38 percent). A majority of Republican sources when the GOP controls the White House and Congress may not be surprising, but Republicans held a similar though slightly smaller edge (57 percent to 42 percent) in 1993, when Clinton was president and Democrats controlled both houses of Congress. And a lively race for the Democratic presidential nomination was beginning to heat up at the time of the 2003 study.

Rachel Maddow: The Fresh Air Interview
Rachel Maddow has a new book out (which will be mentioned in the following).
The main NPR page:
Rachel Maddow: The Fresh Air Interview : NPR
The first 2 paragraphs:
quote:
For much of the past decade, journalist Rachel Maddow has hosted her own radio and TV shows. And for much of that time, the popular MSNBC host has been thinking about how the United States uses military force and how it starts and end wars.
Maddow's new book Drift: The Unmooring of American Military Power traces how U.S. national intelligence agencies have taken over duties that were once assigned to the military, and how this shift has increased the public disconnect from the consequences of war.
The interview transcript:
Rachel Maddow: The Fresh Air Interview : NPR
Link to interview mp3 download (20.4MB):
http://pd.npr.org/...r-mp3/npr/fa/2012/03/20120327_fa_01.mp3
The interview links are also available via the main NPR page link. There are also some interview highlights at the bottom of that page.
In all, something for you Rachel Maddow fans to read/listen to. I caught the tail end of the interview when it was broadcast.

Re: Rachel Maddow: The Fresh Air Interview
The unedited version of the interview (with more discussion of the book content) is supposed to be available, but I can't track it down. Maybe someone else can find it.
