The already tremendous and exponential disparity of wealth has become an increasing topic of conversation among the electorate in the United States.
Apparently, the increasing and exponential convergence of knowledge and intelligence levels between elected representatives and common pets and barnyard animals should also be an increasing topic of conversation. think in academia we all agree that the temperature on Mars is exactly as it is here. Lol! Not even the stupidest comment on that site. I think the senator would have been better off using Venus in his example. Thusly: "We all agree that the temperature of Venus is high enough to melt lead. Yet there are no coal mines or factories on Venus. So how come we get the blame here?" Under a government which imprisons any unjustly, the true place for a just man is also in prison. Thoreau: Civil Disobedience (1846) I have never met a man so ignorant that I couldn't learn something from him. Galileo Galilei If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and deprecate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground, they want rain without thunder and lightning. Frederick Douglass

He was obviously being sarcastic.
His point evidently being that without carbon dioxide earth could conceivably end up like Mars.

Well, except that Mars's atmosphere is 96% carbon dioxide, and the greenhouse effect is what keeps the temperature there as high as it is. "Obviously" is certainly overstating the case.

He was showing his total stupidity or conning the connable. My hope is that it is just the latter.
If global warming is a current fact then the issue is "Where could we as humans make changes?" The fact is, the only part of the warming trend we have any real hope of effecting are those parts we create. The only things we can change are the man made contributions. Edited by jar, : there is no 0 in showingAnyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

Don't forget that the threat of manmade global warming doesn't make any sense because CO2 is a natural byproduct on Earth.
This according to Michelle Bachman. "You were not there for the beginning. You will not be there for the end. Your knowledge of what is going on can only be superficial and relative" William S. Burroughs

You sure that is real? I cannot find an original reference.
Facts don't lie or have an agenda. Facts are just facts "God did it" is not an argument. It is an excuse for intellectual laziness.

Just like this one.

Bachmann is old news. For true connoisseurs of crazy, the man to watch now is Gordon Klingenschmitt.

This weeks loony is David Graham, sole proprietor/loon of TurboGenPower, and a magnificent example of what happens if you combine arrogance with ignorance. He has invented a perpetual motion machine, but heck, haven't we all? Mine runs off the energy liberated when you square a circle.
No, what makes this guy special is his take on the history of science ...
Recently some idiots by the name of Kevin and Plank thought that they could become famous scientists by formulation such a statement. These idiots have found their way into thermal dynamics text books. Here is the NEW BULL SHIT SECOND LAW OF THERMODYNAMICS by Kelvin-Plank * Kelvin-Plank statements : "It is impossible to construct a device which operates in a cycle and produce no other effects than the production of work and exchange of heat with a single reservoir . " Here is the web reference. http://202.113.227.136/...amics/HeatPPT-English/Chapter7.ppt. In all my thermodynamics texts I cannot find a Kelvin-Plank statement. Well, so much for those newcomers to the scientific scene Kelvin and Planck. As for that raw parvenu Clausius ...
The Clausius statements of the second law is another Classic Idiot and product of our 2 1 Century Scientific Education. * Clausius statements : "It is impossible to construct a device which operates in a cycle and whose sole effect is to transfer heat from a cooler body to a hotter body." Your local refrigeration man even knows better than this. He will sell you a device which will take heat out of the cold outdoors and transfer it into your warm house. It is called a HEAT PUMP, and is used in many homes in America and has been perfected for about 100 years. Peer review is also apparently a recent invention:
I began to wonder what would have happened to Eienstein's paper's in 1905. If in 1905 there was peer review, none of Einstein's papers would have been published. No one understood him. Einstein's two famous papers would have fallen into the dust bin of history. An interesting historical observation. Peer review has truly caused modern science to fall into the depths of depravity and cease to serve Mankind. Apparently in Einstein's day physics journals would publish anything if you asked nicely enough. Truly 'twas a golden age. He is also notable for his proof that global warming won't cause the sea level to rise.

How do you come across this stuff????
I got a kick out of the statement before the quote you cited "Recently some idiots by the name of Kevin and Plank... " (Wait, who is Kevin?)
quote: I am not sure he knows that air conditioners need to be plugged in. HBDWhoever calls me ignorant shares my own opinion. Sorrowfully and tacitly I recognize my ignorance, when I consider how much I lack of what my mind in its craving for knowledge is sighing for... I console myself with the consideration that this belongs to our common nature. - Francesco Petrarca "Nothing is easier than to persuade people who want to be persuaded and already believe." - another Petrarca gem. Ignorance is a most formidable opponent rivaled only by arrogance; but when the two join forces, one is all but invincible.
