if you support anticatholic policies you're not catholic. The church accepts everyone. That doesn't make everyone catholic.

Being a member of a club makes one a member of that club.
You and all the other nutters might not like reality yet reality always triumphs over fantasy. Joe Biden is a Roman Catholic and Roman Catholicism is not "catholic".

Just now on Doctor Who (late Fourth Doctor episode, State of Decay) the Doctor and Romana encounter a highly dysfunctional society. She describes it as a "sociopathic abscess". Sounds like a fitting diagnostic for the current administration.
From The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy we have the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal (my emphasis added): quote: Similarly, Trump repeatedly and continually demonstrates that he is so mind-bogglingly stupid that he thinks that the only COVID infections that actually exist are the ones we find through testing, therefore if we stop testing then there will be no new infections. Though we should probably be thankful that he is such a "f&*king moron (Rex Tillerson, Trump’s former Secretary of State, coming out of that very first cabinet meeting). If Trump weren't so utterly stupid and incompetent, he would have completed the destruction of America within the first or second year. Maybe the movie, Idiocracy, should get dishonorable mention here. And of course, there is also a multitude of pandemic stories in both film and print that have laid out our situation over and over again. Except that in those scenarios they at least had some adult leadership in place. "Those who do not learn the lessons of science fiction are condemned to live them."(email tagline) "There comes a time in the affairs of men where you have to grab the bull by the tail and face the situation."(William Claude Fields)

Bush levels of stupid.

In a certain way we should be thankful that Trump fucked up handling the Corona virus. If he had been proactive & by any measure successful, his re-election would be guaranteed. This way there's an opening for sanity to prevail.

Apparently the We Build the Wall campaign was lining the pockets of the organisers, including Bannon. Trump employs the BEST people.

Might be interesting to see what Bannon has on Trump, that he could bargain with.
Could there be any greater conceit, than for someone to believe that the universe has to be simple enough for them to be able to understand it ?

Apparently the We Build the Wall campaign was lining the pockets of the organisers, including Bannon. Trump employs the BEST people. Trump surrounding himself with scumbags, say it ain't so! What a stupid idea to begin with -- trying to get privateers to buy into a fake wall. This has to be one of his dumbest ideas ever and a campaign promise that he predictably still hasn't delivered on. I guess Trump has never heard of airplanes... or ladders.... or shovels... or explosives. Fly over it, climb over it, blow a hole through it, or tunnel underneath it. It would have been just as effective to build a giant hole in the Sonoran desert, throw billions of dollars in it, and set it on fire. That's more or less going to accomplish the same thing. You can go one further: a large portion of the border between Mexico and Texas is the Rio Grande river. Was he planning on building a wall in the center of it? Or maybe his plan is to use Gators:

It's actually worse then that. While the official border goes down the center of the Rio Grande, Trump's plan is to build the wall on the US side of the river, effectively ceding several square miles of US territory to Mexico. (I suspect he would also like to cede California back to Mexico.)
