Edinburgh University officials are to be congratulated. Edinburgh University is to end the tradition of conducting prayers at graduation ceremonies. The 420 year old out-dated tradition that discriminates against non-Christians, will no longer be a part of the ceremony.
I think this is a good move and the sooner other universities follow Edinburgh's lead the better. Christian students, who have worked as hard as any other I may add, can have a prayer service before or after the actual graduation thus promoting equality in Scotland's universities.
