Was it alive during the flood? Or did it grow just after the flood?
What is it you are talking about?
quote:
Seems to me that once you allow an escape clause that the whole "everything died" thing is in sever question ... "
On dry land, very simple, I already gave the reference.
quote:
Another question it opens up is why all the birds were killed when there are species that can easily have spent that entire time at sea
Sea birds, sea mammals, what's the big deal if the sea thingies lived?
quote:
Koalas in floating islands of trees?
This seems to be a creature of dry land, and I beliee they never made it, even if a few managed to floating island hop a little while.

I should love
to get your drift. Like my friend Ap always says....."I'm slow on the uptake." A looooooooooooong time ago, I knew this character who took kayak lessons in a pool. He said it's really important to know how to roll. I understood that instantly.
Brioche is like tea and crumpets and not for cool caballeros like us. We use cactus and scrub for our reclining comfort, and Pecos has buffalo on his private ark. He don't know.......what is buffaloes? hehe!
Mukluks are not known in our parts, we're more into thongs made of rattlesnake skins, or corduroy.

Re: how about it?
arkathon,
Perhaps He should just have taken away free will, and made the wicked obey?
What's so bad about that? Taking away the free will to do evil. It's what law enforcement & security implementation attempts to do, anyway. What's so bad about a world like today with the sole exception that no one can commit an evil act? It's the ultimate security measure that allows you to exercise free will in every other way. It sounds like a much nicer place to live.
That's how I'd do it, & I wouldn't have to drown everyone at a later date, either. But then even if I did have to eliminate evil (like it worked), being omnipotent, I wouldn't be such a bastard as to kill everything, I'd correct my mistakes with a click of my fingers.

Re: still not good enough
(1) the olive tree - all you know is that there was one pranch of an olive tree after the flood receeded ... and it could have been days after ... you just don't know
(2) you didn's answer why 3/4ths of the living organisms on the planet were exempt from the blanket edict. shoddy work
(3) still no reference to any specific survival during the flood
(4) the passage says all birds died, that is the difference between sea birds and sea mammals. curious that isn't it?
(5) the koalas were 'whatever's' contribution to explaining why koalas were in australia and only in australia, among some other very amusing imaginings.

I see and
understand. I've absorbed some punches, good friend, as have you. I duck when I see one coming, and when I know my punchers, I avoid them, especially when I'm able.
What is the better part of valor? Running? (LOL) There are many ways to run - circles around an enemy.
To get into the mind of the enemy is to defeat it. It's time well-spent. Right? What's more, I move on my terms. Don't you? I know you do. It's that captain of my ship thing.

free will
What's so bad about taking away free will? I think it is important to God. He doesn't want robots, He wants people to chose to love Him. We even have the real choice not to. We chose in the Garden to listen to the lies of the serpent saying God was not telling the truth. Now all the universe, untold billions, can see where it leads in the end. Man's inhumanity to man. He will have to stop it soon. If He had stepped in earlier, say to stop hitler, He's have to stop it all, everyone's choice.
You say you'd do it in a New York minute? But only in some areas. Your idea of evil, I suppose. Thing is, the only real choice that counts is Him or the other guy. All the evil results from the wrong choice. Doesn't matter if you snipped some piece of perceived evil away, the wicked heart of sinful God rejecting man has plenty more.
In the very last stages of our history, before the intervention, the leader (antichrist) will give a mark (implant most believe) that will be mandatory. It will be great 'security' no doubt. Needed for all commerce. Death penalty to refuse it. It does not spell it out in the bible, and most people would not agree with me perhaps, but here goes. I think this chip may well directly possibly interfere with, or somehow bypass freewill! Kind of like bypassing normal decison making process or something. I could be wrong. From your post here, sounds like you may not be it's biggest opponent, should it happen?

eye opener
quote:
the olive tree - all you know is that there was one pranch of an olive tree after the flood receeded ... and it could have been days after
Apparently the whole human race cheered at this, and used it as a basis to relocate mankind itself to a new location . -out of the ark! I guess living through the series of catastrophes that lasted a year, they had no doubt it had grown. Life was back!
quote:
the passage says all birds died, that is the difference between sea birds and sea mammals. curious that isn't it?
Well, the bible really is like a locked book, and if you want to understand it, we need His help. When we ask Him in our heart, it is like being born and we get eyes to see the things of the spirit. Otherwise it becomes just foolishness we can not understand. Ask Him, He'll show you. It is very plain to me.

Re: eye opener
Still doesn't show where any thing outside the ark lived throught the flood.
You claim the fish did -- so show me where that is allowed.
Note that over 3/4ths of the life one this planet is in the oceans, so if they are excempt from the decree
KJV writes:
6:12 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.
6:13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
6:17 And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.
I don't see any exceptions there ...

fish loved it
I gave the verse that clarified about the dry land. We'll have to disagree. The fish weren't on the face of the earth, they were in the deep. Fish were not brought on the ark, as the list of things that were in more than one place clearly show.
