Re: Buzsaw's Perfect World
I haven't been close to the computer much recently and didn't notice Taz's thread. When I'm in a hurry I log in and briefly respond without checking out the other threads.
I have no problem with Taz airing his concerns relative to his conceptions pertaining to my positions, some of which are erroneous. If the thread could be re-opened for a spell, I'd like the opportunity to correct some of Taz's misconceptions and set the record straight for Taz and others who may share them. If, after a re-opening, an admin didn't like the direction it was going, it could be re-closed.
I appreciate the concerns of some who spoke up for fairness, including Admin Asgara.

Where/how do I try this function and what does it do, Admin?

Re: Buzsaw's Perfect World
Each thread has an ID number, so if you say something like [tid=13101] (where 13101 is the thread ID for this thread) then you'll get Thread Reopen Requests 2. If you hover over any link to the thread or link to a message of that thread then you'll see the thread ID displayed in the little hoverbox. And once I know what thread you're referring to I can check if it makes sense to reopen it.

Re: Buzsaw's Perfect World
this is the one he's referring to: Buzsaw's perfect world
Buz, to see how I did this, press the peek button. The number I entered after the mid= is found in the address bar of your browser when you open the thread, in this case (EvC Forum: Buzsaw's perfect world) it's the 14313 you want.

Hi Buz,
About Buzsaw's perfect world, I think AdminAsgara was right to close it and that it should stay closed.

Flood Possibility Thread
Hopefully the floodgate could remain open for some possible responses to my answer to Taq's question which received a five-er from someone who evidently was interested in my response. Thanks.

Re: Flood Possibility Thread
As I more or less said at the topic closing message, I think we need a new topic with a new focus.
Closed and staying closed, unless another admin feels otherwise.

It really helps moderators figure out if a topic is disintegrating because of general misbehavior versus someone in particular if the originally non-misbehaving members kept it that way. When everyone is prickly and argumentative and off-topic and personal then it's just too difficult to tell. We have neither infinite time to untie the Gordian knot, nor the wisdom of Solomon.
There used to be a comedian who presented his ideas for a better world, and one of them was to arm everyone on the highway with little rubber dart guns. Every time you see a driver doing something stupid, you fire a little dart at his car. When a state trooper sees someone driving down the highway with a bunch of darts all over his car he pulls him over for being an idiot.
Please make it easy to tell you apart from the idiots. Message 150

No one has rated any of your messages in the The Impossibility Of The Flood thread, so I'm wondering if you're talking about a different thread.

It was Taq's question which I alluded to in Message 86 which received the five rating. (I've not been at the computer much and just noticed your message)
Taq writes:
Let's approach this from a different angle. What type of geologic feature could the flood NOT produce? Can you describe a single one?

Re: Flood Possibility Thread
Taq's rhetorical question was making a point, not requesting information.

Hello
This thread lasted less than 12 hours...
I'd like to get to know this guy a little better. Its in the Coffee House. What's the big deal if its a little unfocused?
I wrote up my reply in notepad only to find that its alread been Moosed.
Can you re-open it so I can at least post what I've already typed up. I even have links to other members and threads for the newbie to check out.

Re: God damnit moose
That should be be God damnit you shithead Mr. Moose.
OK, I've overruled my ideals and moved the topic to "Misc. Topics". I even remembered to reopen the new location version (moving a closed topic results is another closed topic).
The new location.
Still need to get a better topic title on it.
