Didn't want to start another thread, so I'll just hijack someone else's thread on career LOL.
So, a quick recap of my life. Started out working in research. Then moved on to IT. Got really depressed with IT so I switched to law enforcement and worked for a while as a state trooper. Another career change and went to engineering, which is what I am now. I think I'm finally happy and will be sticking with this for a while. Working on a foundation project for a client right now, actually.
Just got word that I just got hired by another company I tried to get in. They'll be heading a bridge project near Chicago. I'm excited and can't wait to be part of the team.
Now, if you look at my work history, you will notice that I did lab work, office work, and out in the highway work. I guess I've spent years trying to find a happy medium where I can be in the office part of the time and out there in the real world part of the time. That's what I'll be doing.
Now, let's hope republicans don't get voted in anytime soon. I got insider info that there will be massive layoffs of engineers if republicans get a hold of power again. Their only goal seems to be to lower taxes for the rich, so they will cut spendings on infrastructure.
Oh, and the wife got her professional license last year, so she's been working full time as a therapist. So, I guess things are coming together for us.
And somehow, I haven't hit the big 30 yet LOL. Will be soon, though. Man, I'll be an oldie in a few months. Depressing...
