Of course you have the right to be stupid. And in fact you exercise that right constantly.
But the trolls are the same folk that built death camps, created more efficient poison gasses, gladly used slave labor and for the last half century or more have stopped all attempts to mitigate the coming pain; they are primarily Big Business and all it's little minions commonly known as the Republican Congressmen.

In this thread you have shown once again why the greatest threat to humankind and all living things on Earth is "Biblical" Christianity and the CC0I.

No need for concentration camps, all we need to do is simply ignore the CCoI and treat them as unruly infants. But we do need to react to Big Business and elect representatives that will pass and enforce laws protecting living things from rampant capitalism.
AbE: Faith, just as we can test the true age of things we can tell whether or not a particular pollutant was naturally made or man made. We can often even determine where a particular pollutant was generated. Science works Faith;, whether you like the fact that it shows the Earth is billions of years old and mankind evolves and was no special creation or that Global Warming is primarily man made. Those are all facts Faith, they are reality and your beliefs are simply fantasies. Edited by jar, : see AbE

The point Faith is that the list is NOT predictions made by Scientist.

Faith writes: My eyes started hurting so I couldn't read more for now, but doesn't this raise the question why so much is being made about Big Carbon if leaf decay alone accounts for that much of the carbon in the atmosphere? We have little or no control of contributions from termites or leaf decay and so the prudent po0licy is to address those areas where we do have the possibility of some control The BIG and IMPORTANT part is that the more contributions from processes where we have no control simply means that we must reduce the contribution from those processes we can control even more.

Yet the current Administration is actively working to increase the US pollution.

I already provided the news stories to you Faith.
And as you certainly should know, what other nations do is absolutely irrelevant; the US can only control what the US does. What we can do is actually join in through treaties to mitigate the effects of Global Warming and reduce the pollution that the US produces.

Faith writes: No we can't control other nations but if our input into the problem is just a tiny fraction of theirs and the overall effect is just about nil, stop bugging the US about it, you are only asking us to commit suicide. Sorry Faith but that hopefully is yet another of your dictates to ignore. The US input is still major and certainly intentionally getting worse and so must be curtailed. AbE:

Human activities are responsible for almost all of the increase in greenhouse gases in the atmosphere over the last 150 years.

Direct from the EPA quote: Yet the current administration is encouraging the use of coal and to prohibit improvements in fuel economy and exhaust emissions and to sue car manufacturers who agree to those reductions. A report directly from the US EPA is not really an empty assertion.

It's not a bare assertion Faith, it's a summary meant for the population unwilling to actually read the tens of thousands of pages of data.
Again, the only parts the US can control are the parts we produce. If other nations do produce more that simply means we must reduce our contributions even more. The effects Faith will not stop at borders and will be universal. The US could do more by actually approving the international treaties and then ratifying them. Sorry Faith but what you believe really is simply irrelevant.

Phat writes: Really? How are you gonna do it? More taxes? That will go over like a lead balloon. the people are in debt enough as it is. We don't want to spend more on anything that puts us in long term debt beyond where we already are. I don't care if it saves the planet or not...if it costs too much, we won't vote for it. Very likely. Yet Phat, the debt WILL get paid.

Some Basics.
The Bill is far beyond the human races ability to pay if it is not addressed soon. And actually, the Asian Nations have reduced their pollution and are continuing to do so but it would be centuries before the Asian Nation caught up with the damage that the US and Europe already did. The fact that we committed the destruction way before the Asian Nations does not removed our responsibility for all the damage we have done of the last two centuries. Saying "Billy's doing it now" is not an excuse for "I did it in the past". AbE: And get this straight Phat. The pain will not be shared equally. The US in particular will suffer far more than most other countries simply because we are among the most industrialized, have no concept of how to live without our Smart Phones, let our infrastructure decay and have already destroyed much of essential resources that would help mitigate the pain. In addition, it will be the poor and middle class in the US who will bear all of the pain, not the rich. Edited by jar, : see AbE Edited by jar, : applin spallin

Phat writes: Either the US middle class pays the bill and helps the planet sacrificially giving up nearly all we have to do so...or, according to jar, the rest of the world won't pay. Yet we all go down with the ship. Or the US Middle Class pulls it's collective head out of its Collective Asses and elects representatives who will throw the Evangelicals on the Trash Heap of History and pass policies, processes, procedures, models and methods that while painful are not fatal. It is not to late to try to mitigate the worst of the pain and maybe, just maybe keep developed humanity in existence as more than simply servants to the rich and powerful.

Phat writes: Would you give up all that you had to help the rest? Pensions, houses, most of your guns? This task is gonna take everything everyone has. And why should the rich get off the hook? You need to stop listening to the conmen. It WILL take everything unless the US Middle Class pulls it's collective head out of its collective asses and does what is needed. The Auto Companies have already agreed that it is possible to double the US vehicle fuel economy over the next twenty years. That would make a significant effect without taking your pension. Changing from incandescent and florescent lighting to LED lighting can make a significant improvement and save money over the next twenty years. Currently we waste energy and water at an alarming and increasing rate because we have allowed the distribution systems to deteriorate. Redirecting funds from utterly stupid policies like some border wall would allow use to repair critical infrastructure over the next twenty years. Fixing our infrastructure will provide jobs to make sure lots more folk have a home and pension. A single bill in Congress removing the salary cap on Social Security Taxes would provide assurance that over the next century the safety net will continue to be available. These might be painful but not fatal. And the only step need is for the US Middle Class to simply go to the polls and vote every single person that believes in a Young Earth, End Times, the Biblical Flood or the Jesus will return during the time humans exist on this earth out of office. Throw them away. Sure, the medicine may taste bad and the shot might hurt but the alternative is fatal.
