A lot of films have already been mentioned that I would put on the list, a couple that I’d like to add

Frailty - Bill Paxton is a single father who is instructed by God to go out and kill people that God has told him are evil demons. His 2 sons are taken along to help. An interesting thriller.

The Apostle - Ok, not really a film with a theological plot as such, but an interesting story of a Southern preacher who goes off the rails a little. Played brilliantly by Robert Duvall.

I don't think I've seen "The Wicker Man" mentioned by anyone yet.

I think it's considered a cult film in the UK, but I don't know if it's very well known in the USA. Basically, it's an unusual film about a devout christian police officer who goes to investigate the disappearance of a young girl on a small island off Scotland. It turns out that the people living on the island are pagans.
