Does this small boulder (maybe 200 lbs) look enough like the classical depiction of Jesus that I should auction it off on ebay? The rock is a metamorphic glacial erratic probably either a hornfel or diorite gneiss composed of bands of quartz and maybe biotite (or other Mg rich mineral) and has red crystals (probably feldspar) throughout. Any further help on ID of the compostion would be appreciated. There are also a few rust stains on it. The Jesus picture is the result of one of the bands of quartz weathering away. Since I have found the rock several years ago, it was turned so Jesus was face up and I never viewed it from a distance. Now that it is part of a flower bed at the bottom of my driveway, I see it every time I leave. Every time, I think...This would sell on ebay no problem.

Hrm The way I see it:
it looks more like this:
But at 200 lbs, I think the shipping cost is going too high to make much money off it. Just for fun, while searching for Jesus pix, I cam across this one that is pretty cool:

I don't see it
It is very difficult for me to picture any face on the rock, never mind jesus, even with the reference pic. Must be an atheist thing(actually I think it is a christian thing). Also, why is it always assumed it is jesus in the rock, toast, toilet stain, whatever. Most of the time, if I see anything I see, Che, Fidel, Jerry Garcia or Abe Lincoln. I must admit one time one of the supposed Mary things looked like Jodie Foster to me.

Why do you people always do this? The Dread Cthulhu gives you signs, and you write it off on some inferior being. You will all be eaten first! But it's not too late, repent, and vote for Cthulhu in the next elections, you will be eaten last! Oh, and Cthulhu neither aproves nor disaproves the selling of rocks, they won't be around long anyway when he returns.

Speaking of Cthulhu, I made this up inspired by Granny Magda's:
I don't think it looks that much like Jesus either, but it looks enough like it that I'm willing to part with it for some $$$$$

Good, you've taken an important step to be eaten last. Now, remember to vote Cthulhu! Oh, and by the way, Cthulhu still doesn't care what you do with your rock.

Abe Lincoln
Theodoric writes: Most of the time, if I see anything I see, Che, Fidel, Jerry Garcia or Abe Lincoln. I must admit one time one of the supposed Mary things looked like Jodie Foster to me. lol! When I was a kid I used to think that the Alaska Airline logo was Abe Lincoln. Learned the hard way when I stated that 'fact' to other human beings while in high school and was informed it was an Eskimo. Was often brought up by friends for some time "Look at this gum on the wall, doesn't it look like Abraham Lincoln, Aaron?"
Doctor Bashir: "Of all the stories you told me, which were true and which weren't?" Elim Garak: "My dear Doctor, they're all true" Doctor Bashir: "Even the lies?" Elim Garak: "Especially the lies"
