Re: where to start...
I will do that, thank you.
Also, someone gave me the explanation I was looking for, thank you for that too I totally get it now. I think I USED to be theistic (sp?) but these days I am questioning even more. I like to say I believe in God and evolution, but the older I get the more my beliefs in evolution increase and beliefs in God decrease.

Re: where to start...
Hey there Dragoness, welcome to EvC!
Just wanted to introduce myself as one of the few long-time female posters in the forum. I have an interest in science as a layperson but my degree was rather Biology- and science-heavy so I have a decent grounding there.
This is a really wonderful place to learn not only about science and the religious politics specific to Evolution, but also to hone your debate skills. Ask lots and lots of questions; there are many professional scientists and very knowledgeable laypeople here who will be happy to teach you.
Us girls are scarce around here, but don't worry about that. The science-minded boys here are more likely to be woman-positive compared to the religious boys, as you might imagine, but everybody is nice, really.
They aren't always nice to me, but I kick their asses in debate sometimes, so I don't take it personally.
Have a great time during your stay!

Re: where to start...
When I was in high school, I used to attend book discussion meetings. The meeting was every week, so we were given a week to read a book. Anyway, there were like 15 girls and 2 guys all the time. I didn't go for a couple weeks and the other guy complained of the lack of testosterone in the discussion.
Anyway, the point is pay back is a bitch, isn't it?

Disclaimer:
Occasionally, owing to the deficiency of the English language, I have used he/him/his meaning he or she/him or her/his or her in order to avoid awkwardness of style.
He, him, and his are not intended as exclusively masculine pronouns. They may refer to either sex or to both sexes!
