That's why!
Because there is a difference between natural selection and artifical selection but not a distinction by less than evc standard admins of chance drift and chating groups of drifters.

yes, I agree with you.
The idea that the adminstrators can engage in the debate, terminate it whenever they wish, restrict a poster from opening up an issue, and reduce the other side to the debate to kneel down and submit an essay for approval is way wrong. No matter how many nice little benefits may accure in regard to dictatorship, you got it pegged correctly.
As soon as the new rule went into effect, I intentionally posted something that was designed to be borderline, ... but on the other seven sites I visit it would have been smacked by the posters' hands, not the "boss"...
FREE WEB INTERACTION... this is our last bastion for such a purpose... and here, while we fight the government at every turn, the enterpranuers of cyberspace usurp the very right with nothing left,... to do about it but complain... i complain... nobody.

Just a quick note to inform the fundies that they can stop e-mailing me to complain about the standard of moderation at EvC.
On Sunday the 13th June I informed Percy that I have withdrawn from the position as Admin as I am far too busy to keep up this role. I have actually been too busy for a about a month now but continued to monitor when I had the time to. However, I will continue to post as a member, but these posts will be very limited, maybe once or twice a week if possible.
I would like to thank ALL the decent members of EvC, Christians and Non-Christians, for their help during my period as admin, most members are very understanding and realise how difficult it can be to moderate discussion boards, so thank you for all the help and understanding.
So the clowns who keep emailing me, to moan about what they think is admin bias against Christians, can stop wasting their time and mine by sending their poorly constructed complaints to another admin, or to Percy himself.
Brian.

Keep posting!
Sad to see you stop being an admin, Brian, but keep the posts coming. I've learned more from you in the last few months than I could ever have learned on my own. Your posts are always well-researched and make a watertight argument and I, for one would miss them if you weren't around. Take careXXX

I hope you have kept the emails.
I would make an interesting read.
I would like to thank you for all the work that you have put into the board and that your current endeavors are as exciting as you might hope. Good luck and God speed. Don't be a stranger and we will cherish the time you can spend with us.

Thank you for the help
Thanks for the moderating help and even more thanks for your contributions.
I don't think you need to post frequently. The quality of your posts is so high that a few go a long way.

I think you, are infact a good admin, certainly I am baffled as to those complaints.
Shame cos you were in my top three.
Asgara, then Ned, then you. I'll have to see if Percy qualifies for third place.

Many thanks friends
I am overwhelmed at these responses.
Thank you all so much, it is heartwarming to be thought of this way, I have been a member here for some time and I cannot imagaine a time when I would ever stop posting here, but I really do need to restrict my posts. I will keep posting but not as often as I would like.
If anyone needs any help at all that they feel I could give then feel free to email me and I will do my best to help out.
Once again your compliments are very moving, my love to you all.
Brian.

Let's Be Honest
Admit it, Brian, you just think it's a better use of your time to chat up the barmaids at Aitken's than to try to get Mike to make sense.
In any case, I hope we'll see you here often. Your knowledge of Biblical history and textual issues has always been impressive.

Hunter chimp = Post.
Just to over treasure my lazer pretzal, did thou have a specific disgruntlement with my hunter chimp? Canst you follow my words unto the firey confusions of whence this brilliance became? Or may I sense make some more?

I'm in agreement that Proposing new topics is just another one of those ways of controlling the debate. If one picks at the seams of the topic, your accused of being off topic, etc...
P.S. I find it interesting though, that the moderators are following in Walt Brown, & Kent Hovinds footsteps, by their efforts to define the debate, and stay on topic. It no different than Walt Brown not allowing an off topic Mission Statement, and Kent Hovind defining his topic so well that no one can meet his challenge, etc...

One of the important decisions when defining a discussion board concerns the nature and style of discussions one wants to encourage. This board attempts to encourage rational and informed debate and discussion. Ignorant and irrational contributions are discouraged. Contributors who persist in posting such messages will naturally find it rough going here.
This is an equal opportunity board as far as enforcing these requirements. Rocket was an evolutionist who had enormous difficulty saying anything rational or on-topic, and he saw his posting privileges restricted. Budikka and SLPx were two other evolutionists who couldn't maintain a polite discussion style or follow moderator requests.
I haven't followed topics in which you've participated very closely, but my guess is that you're not following moderator requests, you have a lot of difficulty staying on topic, and your posts don't make much sense. If you're really motivated to improve then I'd say just keep working at it. But if your goal is actually just to nag moderators into letting you keep doing what you're doing, that probably isn't going to work.
Is there a particular topic you'd like introduced that isn't currently getting attention? If so, post it to [forum=-25] and let's work on it.
