Eastern religions (buddhism, daoism, etc) are more oriented to self discovery and thus increasing your personal knowledge about you, the universe, and other thoughts.Self discovery also exists in other religions but it seems to be masked by the dogmatism that dominates the religious institutions.ps -- is your name-sake the Owl Strix nebulosa or the canadian indian emulating naturalist?

s'cool. we had a great horned living in the woods (indiana), and listened to it every night. did you know about the other? you may have heard of "gray owl paddles" which are named after him. ran accross him first when living in ontario many years ago. I believe he was quite spiritual about it too.oops this is off topic ... better shut down.

you also have the wheel of reincarnation thing where you come back as more or less spiritual depending on you life this time around, so it doesn't matter too much if you don't get it completely right
