quote: Praise be to Mohammed! Hey, Wordswordsman wants to have a "My god is better than your god" pissing contest with you. You better get your nose plugs ready. [This message has been edited by nos482, 09-28-2002]

quote: Plus, there are the many contradictions and errors in it as well, but he can explain those away with apologetic interpretations(READ: Lies, distortions, and spectulation). It is irrelevant if it is different in the so-called "original" manuscipts and scrolls since most Christians can neither read hebrew or have free access to them, nor are bible scholars.

quote: No one wrote the bible, it was put together from other sources and no they didn't know. No matter how high you go you can't see all of the Earth at once. These other cultures had been enlightened enough to see for themselves. That which was oppressed by Christianity wasn't. [This message has been edited by nos482, 10-02-2002]

quote: Backslipping? He is getting all the response he deserves, I don't want to start banging my head against his wall of apologenics. BTW don't hold your breath for that apology from him. The only apology he'll ever give is for his beliefs as in apologenics. Also, I don't believe in compelled apologies or the like. They either have to be voluntary, as in realizing one's mistake on one's own, or they mean nothing. It is just saving one's ass, IMO. [This message has been edited by nos482, 10-03-2002] Adminnemoose comment: I noticed the nos comment first, and posted my message. I then noticed WS's comment, and made an addition by edit. I must admit, that nos's comments in this message, have made me realize that his "offending" message may have been sadly appropriate. As for the "compelled" apology - I would prefer to think of it as a suggestion. I think, that if WS does not retract that offensive statement, and admit that he was wrong in making it, it is going to brand him as a bigot, and essentially destroy his credibility in the related discussion/debate. - Adminnemooseus He had no credibility with me soon after he began to speak. I did, and I learned some valuable lessons from it. "your so-called holy texts"? They have the same source as yours as well. 1. If your attitude is the usual attitude of Christians, then I'd sooner be an atheist then follow your ways. All theists are the same in this attitude when they take their religion a little too seriously. Do you expect people to convert by name-calling and such? You'd only get flames. Even nos482 can't stand you. Poor devil, maybe someone should take him to the vet to be put out of his misery. (Disclaimer: In no way do I endorse that someone actually do this.) 2. [For myself] Never claim anything using Bible verses as reference. Not worth the trouble arguing and undefendable because the original texts are nonexistent. Only use empirical evidence for secular arguments and the Qur'an original text for religious arguments (if necessary). Both the bible and the Qu'ran should only be used as religious references, they have no other value in the real world. One thing you should realize, Andya, just because I mainly target Christianity doesn't mean that I condon Islam. I feel the same about all dominance-based religions. It is just that I live in a mainly Christian centred culture and they are the biggest threat to our freedoms and rights. Arguing with you has been a hard lesson to swallow, but I now understand what Christians really think. There goes my respect to you. Not all Christians are as bad as he is, thank god ( ), the same as not all Muslims would crash airplanes into buildings. [This message has been edited by nos482, 10-04-2002]

Wow, you've really outdone yourself. You made that dog jump through a flaming hoop. I'm impressed at your level of self-delusion. Now, if you could only do something about that smell.

Thank You[/QUOTE] All you have to do is read what he has been posting and you'll see that I'm justified in my opinion of him. He does everything he can to make whatever you say fit into his beliefs. Not only does he jump through hoops he'll bring in the the entire circus to do it. But, hey, you're new here and after awhile you'll come to see this as well. That is unless you like banging your head against a dense wall. [This message has been edited by nos482, 10-05-2002]

quote: Give it time and you will see. I guess that you'll just have to learn for yourself the hard way. As I've stated many times. We only have to respect one's right to express one's beliefs and opinions. Not the beliefs or opinions themselves. It wouldn't be much of a debate if everyone agreed on everything. That would be a creationists board where they only allow fellow creationists to say anything and ban all others at the drop of a hat. [This message has been edited by nos482, 10-05-2002]
