Do you know and understand more about the universe , or did we only expand the size of their cosmos. The last sentence of my posting should read :The ancient Greeks discovered the the round earth. Do we know and understand the universe better than they did or did we only move the sign posts indicating the borders of the universe? Are we not forever moving these sign post futher and futher away? Are we in the process also not creating more mysteries than solving mysteries?Jydee

The problem is it is impossible to visualize a multidimensional object like the universe in a three dimensional world. The expanding balloon is the only model we have and that is way csomologist use it to explain the expanding universe to lay persons.What about the brane and string theories?The mysteries are increasing since the Ptolomy's universe and not decreasing!Jydee

---------------------------------------------------------------------Imposible to get rid of anlogies. Our universe is probably a multidimensional object. Nobody knowns or is abble to represent it in a three dimensional world. Form our point of observation we are unale to see any limit or boundary. Will w ever know if there is anything beyond ?
