Re: for what reason?
Y'know I dream of the day when America might dare to have a Christian president, or maybe 43 of them, consecutively.

Re: Yet more misrepresentation.
Oh, and all men but one against a lone woman. How gallant. How the West has fallen.
What you should get special treatment because you have a vagina? Does having a vagina make you inherently weaker than men with their mighty penises peni?? Does it somehow alter your ability to debate effectivly?

Re: Another Mancunian joins in
There is no benefit for society whatever from gay marriage
So treating people equally is bad for society? How so?
blurring the definition of marriage is not a good thing from any point of view.
I think blurring the definition of marriage (if in this case it means that people get treated equally) is a good thing. So your above statement has been falsified.

Re: Another Mancunian joins in
is that this is not a matter of equality.
How is denying a person the right to marry not a matter of equality?
Historically, cultures don't marry gays.
Historically, cultures engaged in slavery. Historically, cultures treated women as property. "This is the way its always been done" is a bullshit arguement.
Marriage was designed to unite heterosexuals.
At one point marriage was designed to unite heterosexuals of the same "race". Things change, get used to it.
Changing the custom of millennia is not a good idea for the health of society
Why?

Re: Marriage is for heterosexuals, period.
In one part of Canada they even put pastors into prison for preaching that homosexuality is a sin
Some evidence of this?
Practically speaking, gay marriage does NOTHING for society
It ensures that the members of the society have equal rights. Do you think inequality is good for society?

Re: Marriage is for heterosexuals, period.
Gays are not equal to straights
So you do think that homosexuals are second class citizens. Are you going to provide any support for your assertion that pastors have been jailed in Canada for speaking out against homosexuals?

Re: Canadian Pastors in Prison?
However, my best guess is that Faith has this wrong
I agree. Not that she's openly lying just that she's swallowed the party line. A quick google (using the search string: pastor prison homosexuality canada) does turn up a story of a Swedish pastor jailed for inciting hatred against homosexuals. There was nothing concerning Canada but christian paranoia.
