Once a person graduates to friend status, acceptance of who she/he is - is complete.
The idea is to be respectful of the choices friend(s) have made. No reproach, no chastisement, no criticism, no doomsday warnings, no pronouncements of 'God's gonna get you for that'.
It is much easier for me to go where my evolutionist friend is, than it is for him to come where I am. Perhaps that is natural.
