Schraf HAS to be the font of all knowledge on horsy things.
Although, making a fun thing work, makes a fun thing work, Y'know? At the same time, making your work your most fun thing..
I love evolutionary theory. It is one of my recreations, but to make a conventional study of it would spoil it for me. I would be held to to horrible things like, gah, timetables & such... It would become a chore. What retreat would I have?
My advice, although I accept it's not everybodies, is to keep the equines a recreation. I think it's a personality thing. Schraf is sure to disagree.
But if your daughter thinks she can make a separation, then great! She's a better man than me (!). But IMHO these things "sound" better in the mind than in actuation.
English has more applications. Be a generalist, they have a better survival rate.

Schraf,
Well, if everybody kept their equine involvement recreational, then there would be nobody to teach us how to care for, train, and safely ride the things.
I'm not arguing. My point was that an English degree opens more doors than a horsey one, that's all. I wasn't being sniffy about equestrian pursuits.
