Molecular similarity can be interpreted as nothing more than . . . molecular similarity. It need not necessarily have any evolutionary significance.PB: Molecular similarity rather reflects a similar complexity of regulatory phenomena with respect to protein-complex interactions and protein-R/DNA interactions.
