Re: No Self Defense
Nuggin, tone it the hell down, or I will be forced to suspend you for 24 hours.
I really don't want to do that, and I can't guarantee that another admin won't do it anyway, but come on. I don't care how frustrated you get, the rule is:
Always treat other members with respect. Argue the position, not the person. Avoid abusive, harassing and invasive behavior. Avoid needling, hectoring and goading tactics.
Usually, in a well-conducted debate, speakers are either emotionally uncommitted or can preserve sufficient detachment to maintain a coolly academic approach.
If you freak out, all it does is give your opponent to an excuse to avoid answeing your valid points.

I understand. But part of "treat other members with respect" has got to mean stop posting the same false statement over and over again.
No, that's a different rule :
Avoid any form of misrepresentation.

In this thread alone, I've had to say "We are not saying ban all guns" about 50 times.
Nator has, too. It's what we need to do, another 5000 times if need be.
Cooly.

Clearly saying it with a even tone does NOTHING to get the point across.
that's not true. I finally got through to Charred Wing on that point, did you notice?
Anyway, no more discussion about this here. Please behave.
