The words are important.

Lim'ricks is easy, says I.
Rules is fer lubbers, says I.
Comments? Belay!
Opinions? Belay!
Take it or leave it, says I!

Bananas have appeal
And they make a decent meal,
But an argument agin
Evolution doesn't win
If the data isn't real.

It's cheating, I know
To rhyme "know" with "know"
And rhyming with
May strike you as wily
But that's the way limericks go.

I want to include my congrats.
Happy Birthday, and many more, Phats.
I'll write them in verse
(And typically terse).
Now how do I finish this...? Rats!

For staying young there is a good case,
Since growing old is just a death race.
Though the jury is hung,
One way to stay young
Is to never grow up in the first place.

Can we really write three hundred of 'em
Before some admin tells us, "Shove 'em"?
Five lines would suffice
To shut it down nice
Or is limericism above 'em?

Is limerick (re)production
The result of much seduction?
Do limericks evolve?
It's a problem we must solve
For the sake of limerick populace reduction.

Where are the creationist poets?
Instead of just being all-know-its,
Why not have some fun
With a rhyme (or a pun)?
Don't just be say-its, be show-its.
