Old Testament vs. New Testament
I just don't feel good about promoting this topic as presented. Thus at least a bit of preliminary discussion.
If I am correct, every cited example is from the Old Testament. Your "God of death" is Old Testament.
My question is:
How can you follow a book of such atrocities and say it is the love of God?
Your question would seem to be most relevant for Judaism, however...
My counter questions are:
Is the Old Testament really relevant to the essence of Christianity? Isn't the "God of love" more of a New Testament thing?

Re: Old Testament vs. New Testament
So your saying the god of "Old Testament" is different to god "New Testament"?
The behavior sure seems to be different.
...or am I wrong in my understanding - Christians don't believe the "Old Testament" yet believe the "New Testament"?.
I've rephrased that "quote" some, to say what I think you meant rather that what so actually said.
Personally, I think that Christians would be best off jettisoning the Old Testament as being of dubious quality and also being irrelevant, and focusing on the Christian (as in, Christ's) message of the New Testament. Of course, my views are not representative of Christianity as a whole.
As I see it, what might fly as being a good topic would be a "compare/contrast the testaments" type topic, including what you covered in message 1. How about trying a whole new opening message that covers the broader "Old vs. New Testament God". Please post this as a new message in this topic. That new message can be used to become message 1 of the released version of the topic.
Don't take my "fighting" you wrong. I do it because I care about this topic and want to see it get off to a good start.
