Re: Comic Dames?
Jeez you need more male friends. MOST of my friend"s women are boring and annoying as fuck! Seriously, I'm not trying to be funny at all. I can stand to be around very few of them.
That doesn't sound like much fun...
Do your friends find their women boring and annoying as fuck too, but don't leave them for whatever reason? Do they know that you don't like their women? Do you like your friends' other male friends?
I really like all my boyfriend's friends, and he likes mine too. That seems normal and predictable to me - his friends have things in common with him and mine do with me, so there's a good chance most of us will get on.

It would be depressingly funny if it were not so unequivocally true.
- It's funny, I've been out with my married friends or friends in relationships and "some how" we'll end up at a stripclub, and I've had friends literally jump up in a moment of clarity and say, "Dude, it's fuckin' Tuesday, wtf are we doing in a stripclub?" And honestly I have never had a good answer to that other than, "Well, naked bitches, dude."
Guys put up with their mate's (in the British as opposed to sexual sense of the word) girlfriends. But on the whole men are more fun without their "partners" around and the girlfriends are kinda a drag. Generically speaking.
It seems like this is, for the most part, the case. I've had ONE and only one woman in my life that truly did know how to hang out and drink with my friends like "one of the guys." But even then, I didn't want her around a lot only because, even though she could hang out and be herself around guys in a cool manner, I couldn't completely be myself when she was around. I personally couldn't be "one of the guys."
If marriage depended on that kinda peachiness there would be a lot more divorce. Guys just accept the inevitable to a large degree.
Fuck, who needs a shot and beer?

ALL men find women annoying and boring, that's why we have male friends. You guys (at this point from our convo I'm assuming your a female - if I'm wrong, sorry.) can be good partners, lovers, best friend - that's all well and good - but fun, funny or as fun to hang out with as our male friends? Hellllz-to-the-NO! Any guy saying anything different is a liar!
Do they know that you don't like their women?
They don't like their own women, of course they know I don't like 'em. If they can't put up with them they certainly don't expect me to put up with them.
Seriously though, most of them on a personal level I love 'em. Some are like a sister to me. But my sister was annoying and boring ass fuck too. Still love her though.
Guys enjoy a women on a whole other level. You guys are boring and annoying to us. Sorry, but it's just a fact.
I really like all my boyfriend's friends, and he likes mine too.
Cool. But he still finds your female friends boring and annoying, trust me.

Dude, seriously. I've had several friends who were women whose intelligence and sense of humor I greatly enjoyed. Of course, I also wanted to get into their pants. But I still found them fun to hang out with regardless of whether I got into their pants or not.
If you're not taking the mick with us and are serious, you need to find new friends. Or reevaluate your relationship with reality.

Re: Pre 70s comedy masterpieces
As far as I can tell, each of them is a one trick pony.
Well I guess I'm viewing more of the 'total package' with these guys. Sandler and Ferrell and also great writters, directors, and sketch performers. As far as SNL goes, I'd put Ferrell in the top 10 as far as sketch/improv.
Sandler and Ferrell have also done amazing rolls in much more serious films (Sandler: Punch Drunk Love and Reign 'or Me, also Spanglish) - (Ferrell: Stranger Than Fiction, Melinda and Melinda and Winter Passing - which is a great film: movie trailer.
As for Lovitz and Hartman, you kinda gotta "get" improv and sketch groups to understand these guys. It's a vital roll in any improv troup to have guys like Hartman and Lovitz you play those odd yet straight characters.
Never saw Blow. Did Pee Wee do something different in any way from Pee Wee?
Tons! Here.
Also, lets remember that Pee Wee was a franchise, he produced, directed and controlled the entire production. That takes some talent to do. It did type-cast him for other roles though.

Thank you...

Sure. You hung out and enjoyed their company till if and when you got to bang 'em. It's what we all do. We put up with their annoyances till we get in their pants. If not you enter the "friend" zone... at which point you're just the dumb-ass who listens to her problems. And it's usually about some other guy... who IS fucking her.
But don't give this bullshit about them being more fun to hang with than your male friends. Would you go out with your girlfriend or wife's friends and just hang out at a happy hour with them? Just you and them? If you would then YOU need the reality check, bro.

Now you're getting it. What you wrote is absolutely true! We are. We laugh at dumb shit, have inside jokes that are stupid, if it doesn't have a vagina or involve sports we're not interested in it; we're simple minded and not very complex... and that's why we don't find you guys (women) funny. Cause you're none of that. It's all subjective.
Sex in the City sucks balls! There, I've said it. lol

Re: Comic Dames?
But women are a lot more fun to hang out with than men are! It's a simple fact of life. Even when sex is clearly out of the question (which was definitely the case with our female friends while I was married), they're a lot more fun. What do you expect me to do, dance with guys? Besides, most guys seem to be interested in little more than sports, just about the most sadistically boring torture yet devised.

Re: Comic Dames?
Sex in the City does suck balls! Big hairy ones. If you're basing your assessment of women on the ones who are Sex in the City fans, I begin to see where you are coming from...
I think you might need to remember that people are different, though, at almost all levels (good thing too!). As you say, it's all subjective.
Based on your characterisation of men, I think you would find my non-drinking, sport-hating, very-interested-in-lots-of-different-things boyfriend quite difficult to relate to

See, now that's funny... but clearly something a guy would say. That's why it's funny. However, I will admit I'm always attacted to women who talk like that.

And will you admit that you can't stand that type of girl either? Which, sadly - (and you're probably cool as shit since you're on this site and say "hairy balls) - but that is a large percentage of the woman population. Especially here in the states. The Ed Hardy wearing generation of douchebags.

Not at all, I got lots of artsy-gay friends, lol. Some of the coolest people I know. But yeah, if he doesn't like to drink (or at least smoke) then I'd say he's a lame dude. My opinion of course.
Like Sinatra said: I feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the morning, that's the best they're gonna feel all day.
I don't like sports though, except for soccer and MMA, everything else bores me.

Can everyone please look around the forums here at EvC - check in Big Bang and Cosmology or in Faith and Belief, it seems like dwise1 has lost his balls. Anyone?
What is she reading over your shoulder? Not so wise this time dwise...
What do you expect me to do, dance with guys?
You be a man and stop dancing, that's what you do.
Besides, most guys seem to be interested in little more than sports, just about the most sadistically boring torture yet devised.
Yeah... there's also women, and ahh... cars... music... tits... ahh... oh yeah, books... movies... fishing... golf... all of which are things that are a lot more fun without chicks. Except for women. Women are definitely a lot more fun when experienced with other women.

Hmmm, it's something I would say. That's just how my mind works - if you're going to say something sucks balls, it will carry more weight if you supply a description of the balls. But I am pleased to have said something you consider funny
Sure, I'm not going to get on with that type of girl either, but luckily no-one's making me hang around with them. I do think there is a UK/US divide here, the SiTC (or is it SaTC?) characters are like aliens to me. I have no interest in clothes, babies or the cynical manipulation of men. And I don't know who Ed Hardy is.
Soccer fan eh? That is THE sport of choice for most UK men and a lot of women too. I like cricket better though.
Got to go to bed now, anyway. Going birdwatching in the morning - which I suspect makes me a bit less cool than shit

Saw Stranger Than Fiction, SSDD, and zero acting chops.
I love improv, it's my favorite type of comedy. Just never seen any of them do it. I'm afraid, however, that they'd just do it all the same as they did everything else.
