There is strong evidence that we use very little of of brain in the small area which is Conscious.
The larger domains exist wherein the archetypal members of the Subconscious are co-inhabited by the ancient of ancient Unconscious mind.That Unconscious mind, within the kingdom of the heavens where we make choices we believe are conscious self willed decisions, has long had much to say in regard to directing our evolution.
But, that Directed Evolution is actually accomplished as the composite and sum of all humanity.
Each member who is alive contributes from birth until death to the Collective Unconsciousness of our species.
Like a God or Archeangel, that Collective Unconscious hovers over mankind as his immortal shepherd, never disappearing as we come and go, adding and subtracting from it.We see the metaphysical "electrodes" injecting whole new paradigms of thinking over the whole living species in the historical record wherein one of the seven past Ages of Man has transcended into the next.
Entirely new world views have appeared everywhere, almost at once, in these enormous paradigm changes.
It has been as if the invisible hand of the Great Shechinah where actually attached to the Grand Olde Man of the Zorah: The whole process of Life, coping with the Natural Law which required that life to Adapt to the ever unfolding Reality it has cohabited with for millions of years,... predictably and understandably... has lead to "Life" that "understood" the Real World of Existence, de facto it has never died.That understanding has culminated in the final product of the human mind.
Now that mind is endowed with the ability to image the father of all life, i.e.; the Reality that has frame by frame unfolded to this point in time.
That image is Truth, a body of knowledge that is genetically re-born again in every child.
That Truth is experiential, it came from actual life experiences with the Real World.Now, Truth will be the "director" of mankind in his quest to adapt, and, hence, live forever with the Force behind the ever changing, unfolding next frame of the Reality within which man is both trapped and nurtured.

Yes, good time to repeat the question.Is it not the Collective Unconscious mind that has been the rather unseen shepherd working just beneath the level of consciousness which will reveal itself in collective behaviors where whole masses of people, suddenly, together, stand up in the awareness that the social forces at work have been screwing them because they were previously isolated and thought to be alone.
In that unity is their strength.I argue yes.
What we will see is more Arab Springs where passive resistance as demonstrated Gandhi, Martin Luther King, or the Berlin Wall type effects will swell up and direct man in paths of enlightenment in such numbers and synchronicity that a world of men will closer image the real world that confronts him.

The small viullage which the world has become is growing even smaller since 1 billion chinese and another 1 billion Indians have jumped over the whole traditional wall of industrialization and requirement for infrastructure simply by accessing the Smart Phone.But these advancements have taken place in small incremental steps which in every case was sparked by some observation brought to the attention of someone who listened to a small low "voice" inside his head.Something very powerful in our species has been drawing us togther, as if a shepherd, gathring us into his flock.Our species has been under the influence of a transforming paradigm that would be akin to having make the solitary wood boring Bee evolve into the Social Animal of the Honey Bee.The Unconscious mind of man has been at work here, changing us from warriors against the weakest among our own kind into one peoples who are valuing the love of their enemy both in giving and receiving it.The Global Village is now and evermore headed to become the Twelve Tribes of Man, each a whole nation or type of peoples that add to our collective good, and need the others to support their welfare and existence, also:
