I think we underestimate the effect dog-piling can have on a newbie. I've often thought that the number of replies to a newbie's post should be limited to no more than a couple.After a while they can safely be thrown to the dogs but, initially at least, the 'fresh meat' effect needs controlling - especially when the place is as quiet as it is now, everyone wants a piece of the action.It takes quite a while to adjust to the difference between the rigour demanded here from the norms of pub talk - I think we need to cut some slack if we want people to settle in here.

You know, no-one gives a stuff. Why don't you just get stuck into the actual arguments and leave all this 'it's all about me and my feelings' stuff your side of the your router? It's just bloody tedious.

You seem to have spotted that what I said had nothing to do with science and everything to do with my exasperation for your constant whining and inability to present a coherent argument. Get on with my life and shake my head in nonplussed wonderment.Now perhaps you'll drop all this me stuff and start debating properly.
