Do you think that torturing a baby is ever justified?
Have you seen this rather well done movie?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dx7irFN2gdI
They end asking about a God who tortures babies as God did to King David’s baby.
God also killed many innocent babies in his great flood as well as the innocent first born of Egypt.
Dwindling In Unbelief: God slowly killed David's baby boy to punish David for adultery
Do you think that torturing a baby is ever justified?

DL

15 And Nathan departed unto his house. And the Lord struck the child that Uriah's wife bare unto David, and it was very sick.
Is making a baby sick for 6 days before finally killing it not torture?
"So once again GIA is just making shit up and showing his ignorance but fortunately, ignorance can be cured."
Thanks for making shit up. I hope you find the cure.

Absolutely when it is a God who is loved does it and his followers continue to love such a prick.
If I ask the question, they might see what kind of vile demiurge they follow.

Then you do not know the story.
Regardless. It is just one of a number of instances where God punishes the innocent instead of the guilty.

Unexpected? Just because you do not know me well enough yet.
I do not miss any opportunity to call a prick a prick. God being the prick just says that I thought about it before posting to confirm that he is a prick.

I agree.
Death might be fairly fast from drowning but those would seem like a very long few minutes to the drowning.

Is intentionally striking someone with a killing illness not torture to you?
What word would you use if not torture?

I think it a perfect example as it is putting it one on one.
True that we do not know the details to firm up the condemnation against God for his actions, but we do know enough to see what a real vile demiurge his is.
Seems we Gnostic Christians had him pegged right from the beginning.

"In any case it's childish to talk about it as GIA has been doing on this thread."
You believe in talking animals and a water walking God so I don't think you are fit to judge what is childish or not.
------------------
Strange that you do not want to talk of all the times God punishes the innocent instead of the guilty. That is what is childish here.
"We are to learn from such examples that our own sins have consequences, in our own families as well as our own lives."
What was the babies sin and if it had none, was God torturing and killing it a just punishment?

Correct but we would if, like God in this story, it took him 7 days to finish up.

The LORD struck the child that Uriah's wife bare unto David, and it was very sick. 12.15
When God made the baby sick, David pleaded with God to stop tormenting him. But God wouldn't listen.
David therefore besought God for the child; and David fasted, and went in, and lay all night upon the earth. 12.16
Finally, after the baby suffered for seven days, God killed him.
On the seventh day, that the child died. 12.18
After the baby died, David washed, got dressed, had a nice meal, and worshiped the God who killed his son.
David arose from the earth, and washed, and anointed himself, and changed his apparel, and came into the house of the LORD, and worshipped: then he ... did eat. 12.20
Was what killed the baby not torture?
If not, what would you call its 6 days of ------------
Please fill in that blank. I like to learn new words.
Regards
DL
