Does anyone here vape?
I have been a smoker for so long I can’t even remember when I had my lighter and cigarette pouch surgically attached to my hip. I tried all the stop-smoking techniques from patches to pills, transcendental meditation to hypnosis, without even limited success.
For the last year I’ve been experimenting with vaping. Different equipment, different juices, different strengths and so on. About 2 months ago I found that instead of going outside to grab a smoke every hour, I would take a couple hits on my vape pipe just like I would a cigarette (doesn’t leave any odor and, no, I’m not into the peacock display of the big billowy dense clouds the kids are into so no one notices, much). So I made the effort to do this at home as well. I haven’t bought a pack of cigarettes in 6 weeks. I won’t claim I quit for another year, at least, but I’m finding that I have no desire to go out of my way to puff up a cigarette when the convenience of the vape is sitting right there ready to give me my nicotine hit. And I don’t have to puff and puff and puff some more to finish. One or two hits of vape and I’m good. I am pleasantly surprised.
Anyone else with a vape experience? Good or bad?
It appears to be working for me. Might it for you?

Hydro, Faith,
I appreciate the responses and thank you for your advice but I should explain better. The nicotine is not a major problem for me. I know it’s not healthy but I’m addicted to the buzz. I like it. Nicotine is my drug of choice. What I am impressed with about vaping is I can still get my fix without the constant wheezing hacking cough. (I deleted a bunch of gross disgusting descriptions with which most long-term smokers are already too familiar.) My due diligence on the chemistry shows that vaping is considerably, and acknowledged as so, less harmful than tobacco. By a couple orders of magnitude, plus.
If nicotine is an issue then maybe a good plan for some may be to decrease the mix of nicotine in their juice to 0 mg over some period. They do indeed make nicotine-free juices. All vapor and flavor with nothing more. But, that’s not me yet.
What I am interested in is others’ vaping experiences. If there are others out there with somewhat similar experiences, or with bad experiences to vaping, I would like to know. Like your testimonials, I’m thinking this may be of help to those who have been, like me, through everything else.

The book addresses exactly that, and I'm tempted to hit you over the head with a copy of it.
Oh, please do, My Lady Love. I have waited so long to be smacked by you.

Re: O Ye Of Little Vape
Oh me of lots of vape.
Vape Evangelism I am here! But only when it works.
Different strokes and etc like that. Not everyone will find solace in the vape. But if they do ... so much the better.

Vaping has been a god send for me. It gets the job done without all the penalties.
I'm glad it has worked for you. How long did it take to free yourself from the analogs (vape-speak for tobacco cigs)?
I bummed one the other day and still was not disgusted. I have a way to go still.
Thanx, Cat Sci

I have heard several people have bad reactions to vaping... I think it might be the PGP.
PGP is new to me. What is that?
I know that PG (propylene glycol) is widely used in vape juice in combination with VG (vegetable glycerine). PEG (polyethylene glycol) is another that is used most frequently by the big tobacco companies for use in their disposable e-cigarettes. Might you be referring to PPG (polypropylene glycol) which is a polymer derivative of PG and would not be a good thing in an vape juice?
Which brings up the whole caveat emptor thing. A lot of vape shops and smoke shops have their own in-house mixologists to custom blend juices. They should be using only FDA approved (licensed as pharmaceutical or food grade) or USP convention food grade PG and VG. One should ask the mixologist what they are using, its source, how they know its FDA/USP grading and then ask around the other vape/smoke shops about this one's reputation.

Nicotine itself is toxic, isn't it? Isn't it used in pesticides?
Yes. Yes it is. It is a stimulant at low doses (which is, of course, the goal) and a poison at high doses.
It is not a good thing to put into your body unless it is carefully controlled. A toxic dose of nicotine is considered to be around 4 mg/L (plasma). Even with a high power vape setup and a juice of 18 mg/ml (way strong) the vaper's (vapespeak for the person) plasma level hits a high of only about 6.6 g/L. That's micrograms (g), 1000 times less than milligrams (mg). And you really have to puff hard and long to get that at which point you will be a bit dizzy. A good buzz is more around 3-4 g/L.
It's still not good for you, but considering where the vaper came from it is a vast improvement for your state of un-health.
Like so much in life (even Hagen-Dazs Chocolate Ice Cream) moderation is the word.

... how good is that "buzz" anyway? Are you really getting a high off it, or is it possibly just an addiction based on the discomfort you experience when it's not in your system? I mean, is it possible the "high" isn't really much more than the relief of ending that discomfort?
For a lot of folks this is correct, no doubt. I guess that's why some people can detox, as it were, so easily. But for some of us there is, not so much a high like THC, but a mild buzz. There is, to be sure, symptom relief but there is also something more. A warm comfort, a brightness, that transcends mere symptom relief. Boosting my nicotine level doesn't just put me back on an even keel. Unless one is there it is very difficult to describe. There is, indeed, a real pleasure in it.
I've been nicotine free before. No symptoms, no problems. Call it my addictive personality, but I missed that buzz and always went back to it.
You are stronger than I am. I'm happy for you. Maybe someday I will walk that road again. Maybe not. Like the alcohol in my wine I do not want to stop the nicotine. In moderation there is no real danger to it. I want to stop the tobacco. To this point nothing else has worked toward that end.
Up The Vape! (with a good Cabernet on the side)

abe; HOWEVER: I ran across this on the downside of vaping for health.
Yes, I saw this. As I have said before, vaping is not a healthy thing to do to the pristine human body. But as your article again confirms it is two orders of magnitude (100 times) better than tobacco.
If someone smokes then vaping instead may help them quit. If you don't do either then don't start either.

You're a blonde aren't you.
I do not want to quit my drugs.
I do not want to quit the alcohol in my wine. I do not want to quit the nicotine in my vape.
I do not have to eat the glass to get to my alcohol. And now, I do not have to smoke the tobacco to get to my nicotine.
The dangers of each are minimal, which at my age means they are non-existent.
No. I do not want to quit. Not wine. Not vape.
So I said I'd leave you alone about this. Now I'm going to sleep so maybe that will do it.
God, I hope so. Goodnight, M'Love.

Re: The Easy Way again
To AZP: Sorry if I hijacked your thread, but it looks like there aren't many vapers anyway.
