Suspensions and Bannings Part III

Two days for Jaf for being a troll and insulting members. He wanted a suspension anyway. If he really wants to be here he can change. Members have to earn the right to insult each other around here after all.

Other admins, if you want to ease the sentence feel free to do so...I may have been too harsh on the new kid. Then again....

Yes it is a week. Hooah knows better. If he is concerned about "EvC being the way it once was" he can lead by example.

He dared us to ban him... here He continues to spam the forum with links to his own forum yet contributes nothing of substance.

Next offense will be indefinite suspension. (OK..you guys were right about him...but at least I gave him a chance. )

I received a lot of flak for promoting her second topic---I suppose I should have read the first one through more thoroughly. My reasoning was to give another creationist a chance ti explain themselves. I disliked her signature and even removed it once---she put it back on.

It seems as if even her alleged "own words" are too spammy.

Still, I wanted to give her a chance.

Im beginning to agree with Moose though. She seems to have a one track mind and its all based on that one website.

It was not I. I do recall suspending him a while back for commenting on a rejected PNT. Lemme see if I can find it.....

ahh yes... here. This was almost a month ago...i suspended him for 3 days back then IIRC. He was commenting on a rejected PNT and I had left it open for another moderator to promote...which none did.

While we are at it--I notice that my phat/adminphat buttons are not linked any more. while typing now as AdminPhat I see that I cannot click over to Phat. Perhaps this is a good thing as it keeps my alter-egos seperate.

Add by edit: I have not seen him around here for quite awhile. I never really liked him but in all fairness perhaps I was biased and, if so I do apologize.

Add by further edit: Looks like I laid a 4 week one on him back then. I dont remember the specifics except to say he pissed me off. I apologize to everyone for being an irrational admin.

It can be a real drama around here, and it is not entirely Faiths fault---she is often goaded by other members who know just how to push her buttons.

We are all part of the problem and yet it is one of the few dramas that drives this forum lately. All I can say is that we all need to give the beliefs of other members more respect, whether or not they are rational, reasonable, logical, or evidential.

We have let him run free for a while, but he shows no desire or inclination to grow up and debate intelligently so enough is enough. I've given him a week, but likely will keep riding him until he changes or goes away. Once a troll has presented their inane argument and provided a bit of comic relief for the peanut gallery, it is time to cut them loose.

This seems to be the best solution. Kleinman may soon follow. I am as loony as the best of them, but I know to keep quiet in Science Forums. As for dad, he is suspended 4 hours and then can resume in the Social and Religious issues side of the Forum.

I suspended him for 2 days in order to let him cool down. I have no problem with his arguments nor his freedom to voice his opinion. I DO have a problem with how he is insulting other members and this forum itself.
