How Sweet it is!
First we had the one in the US. Now, another one in Canada. I would not be surprised if many in different states and countries opened up over the next decade or so.
I think this is a good thing. A great thing. Long overdue.
Not because all the science is perfect, any more than it might be for the evolution proponents, but, because children deserve faith.
I plan to recommend both museums, and any more than spring up.

Re: How noodly be thy appendage?

Do you also consider a museum that promotes the Flying Spagetti Monster also a "great thing" and "long overdue"?
Why would I think something that does not exist is great?
quote:
Interesting that you would promote the museum on the grounds of a need for faith and not on the grounds that you feel a problem in science. If you have no problem with science, would it not be better to supply faith in some other method? Perhaps church or a theology class would be a better method of providing faith.
I don't feel that science really comes into the picture all that much. After all, how much science is in the pre big bang stories?
quote:
It would not suprise me at all. I find it sad that instead of progress things seem to be slipping backwards in the progress of science. With fights in court and the building of such museums I would not be suprised if my great grandchildren believe the Earth to be flat and illness is caused by evil spirits.
Illness can be caused by evil spirits. But the earth being flat, I think is something not even the ancients really believed.

Welcome to EvC Keys!
Thank you.

I was curious if you have fully considered the repercussions of such museums. I believe much more of this type of false witness would serve to humiliate, degrade, and ultimately marginalize Christianity in any nation as it is against both the religion as understood by the vast majority of theologians that have actually taken the time to study the Bible and of course the science that provides for economic prosperity and the common defense.
Without God, there can be no defense, to start with. Many countries found that out through history. As for science, most of the creation debate is before our science is known to apply. So, why not let the creation of the bible be taught, even with imperfect science, rather than shunned, with imperfect science!? After all, the creation museum does better reflect the majority opinion in the US.
As for degrading, and humiliating, nothing is more so than the philosphy and world view that claims man is just an animal.

The fact that Biblical Creationism is a lie and fraud is not a matter of opinion but of fact. It is supported only by the Christian Cult of Ignorance and as long as Christians are willing to remain ignorant and willing to fork over money to the leaders of the Cult of Ignorance, it will thrive.
I see. So you are not unbiased. Interesting. OK. I would ask you what faith you are from, then, since you had something to say about my faith. Two can play at that game. I do hope you will be honest. If you claim no faith, the faith of your fathers will do. -If not, perhaps you can find some other thread where you randomly insult. This should be fun.

Puerto Rico has had one for many years already.
Fantastic, glad to hear that.
quote:
IT is not a good thing if it is based on lies.
Neither would the standard stories about things that can't be proved, about the beginnings of things, if they were lies.
quote:
Children deserve truth.
If God is real, then they need to base their faith on truth, not lies, otherwise they will lose their faith when the obvious truth becomes apparent to them.
That, you may feel a need to worry about, but, if one is standing on the rock, that would be impossible, because the truth is the truth is the truth. It already would be apparent to them.

Re: How Sweet it is!
Oh. OK. But, you know, some Christians feel that the next church down the street is the cult of ignorance. What kind of Christian are you? A bible believer? A former Christian, or 'backslider', a nominal believer, etc etc?
How is it you get to decide, in other words who is the good Christians, and who is in this cult of ignorance? Precisely?

I think that the publicity linked to creationism museums would serve as a powerful tool in the fight against creationism. The more exposure that creationism gets, the worse it is going to look.
Let's have creationism museums everywhere.

Re: Dinosaurs and People etc.
You seem to be unaware that many millions of real people think exactly that of the stories of the past, that you have on offer. Many might like a new 'movie'.

I dunno, you seem to think the fairy tale promoted by this "museum" is great, what's wrong with telling the FSM's side of the story?
You have an opinion. Perhaps you even think it is important. You could not begin to prove that. So I laugh at the claim.

Life long active working at being a Christian Christian.
OK. I guess that means you believe in the bible?
quote:
Well, people who teach lies and falsehoods like Biblical Creationism are in the Cult of Ignorance by default.
I don't decide, their behavior convicts them.
Anyone who thinks the Earth is only thousands of years old is in the Cult of Ignorance. Sorry, that is just a fact.
I also am a Christian, and am certain the universe was created 6000 years ago. Nothing convicts me of being in this cult of ignorance you dreamed up. What about the bible is it you don't like?
quote:
Anyone who thinks man is not an animal is in the Cult of Ignorance. Sorry, that is just a fact.
Well, no, actually, lrt me tell you the facts of that matter. Man is more than the flesh. You speak only of a part of what a man is. If we were to imagine only that flesh part was all there was, why, one would have your point of view. Of course as most know, there is more, so we cannot be defined by that part of what a man is, the flesh part only. That is unbiblical, as you really ought to know, claiming to be a Christian.
quote:
But being ignorant is curable. It is not a matter of the Christian Cult of Ignorance being bad. Most people in it aren't bad, just ignorant. But the preachers and teachers and pastors and ministers and padres and priests and other charlatans who are getting rich off the membership of the Christian Cult of Ignorance, who take advantage of them through things like the different Creation Museums, are bad.
Nonsense, this sort of backwater, Inquisition era witch hunting conspiracy theory gibberish, and biased hate speech cannot be cloaked in the sheepskin of Christian reality. Not now, not ever.
