I don't know about you other people but I am completely facinated with the varing degrees of human intelligence, from retarded to the most gifted of geniuses. I'm planning to major in neuroscience which I think could maybe lead into a medical degree or are there any areas that I could study that may focus on intelligence? When I'm not trying to study why and how we think I love to observe and read about geniuses. Does anyone know any good sites where there are predominantly brilliant people? Not that the majority of EvC "goers" doesn't hold up hehe. I would just like to find (for my own sheer curiousity) what makes the difference between someone with 200 IQ and someone with the average or possibly above average. So you can guess I love to do intelligence tests for fun (mostly) does anyone know where I can do the best of the free online tests?

I would love to see an honest intelligence test score comparison of christians and non-believers in a large population.

Yes. But someone with a score on the far right of the bell curve will usually have ideas about success (if they care about success) and generally the smarter people will have better plans I would think.

Mensa maybe, but what about the people that are "smarter" then nearly the entire population of humans?

Obviously they are a rarity but they are there. And surely not perfect as well, but, the intelligence is facinating, how are they different? For example why was Einstein different intellectually? What about Newton or DaVinci? Socrates? Plato? How do they compare with the people of trailer park boys? That difference is what intelligence is.

Do you mean she knows it's a good thing and she doesn't need to be there to know it? If so, I understand that. But when you look past her to a known genius you see the difference of a faster and more powerful and more capable mind. On a sideline: One thing I've noticed for myself was that I got smarter when I started looking outside my own box into the realm of other people. What that means is when people talked I would actually listen without just waiting for my turn to talk. When I do that I'm in the other person's mind waiting to hear what it's going to tell me. I was afraid to do that before because I didn't want to stay in their mind, which is entirely possible, look at an unintelligent person that hangs out with a person of great potential, the possibility of dragging the person down is there and it happens when the latter conforms and is encapsulated by the former. That's why we want our kids to have good friends. So, that has really helped for me in getting smarter - I found - and I also see now that you don't lose your own mind as long as you still have time for yourself and a varying degree of friends for an equal distribution of conversations.

Like the English? ....I am of English decent actually, there you go. The duller friends are certainly entertaining but after a while I find it does stick sometimes.
quote: Yes I believe IQ is a matter of both genetics and environment, as with most things in the human condition nature and nurture seem to shape our minds and bodies. Having a open mind will certainly expand it IMO.
I think and have been taught that as well. I imagine most do. This message has been edited by Mission for Truth, 08-31-2004 02:43 PM

I would stick with the IQ tests at http://www.highiqsociety.com try their "ultimate IQ test" and let me know in this thread what you get. I can't get anything higher then 143 for the life of me.

I have no patience for the unfolded pattern questions as well! But oh well. I don't think it's that accurate of a test either. Although, you can see the difference between people who try it. But it certainly doesn't map the entire dynamics of one's intellect - I think most would agree. This message has been edited by Mission for Truth, 09-02-2004 09:49 AM
