Please Abolish Member Rating

Dear Admin,After making 33 posts, I have been given a member rating of 1.I have not abused anyone or accused anyone. Nor have I insulted anyone. I have not violated any rules here. So I am a bit puzzled at the value and meaning of this rating. May be it carries no value and has no meaning. Why then is it there?This member rating of 1 discourages me from participating in this forum. It is not the figure that is an issue, it is the rating itself that is an issue for me. I feel insulted and offended.I also feel I should get the message and move on to the next forum where I will not be judged or rated. It saddens me because I have just started to enjoy this forum. I think there are some intelligent souls here and I have had the opportunity to debate with some of them. I must admit that my experience here is a lot of fun and I genuinely enjoyed it.As far as I know, this is a forum where people can debate and discuss issues. This is not a forum restricted to particular points of view. So, expressing one view or the other should not be taken as an opportunity to rate someone low or high. As long as someone has not violated the rules of the forum, he or she should not get discouraged by the system of the forum.This is not a school or a university or an exam. This is not even a competition. So judging and rating only discourages people from staying here.I agree I am in no way compelled to be a member here. I understand that I am free to stay or leave. I also am aware that most people will advice me to leave if I am not happy with how things are here. But I just thought I will let you know of what concerns me. Not many people would have done it, I am sure. Most people would have quietly walked away.In my humble opinion, if you want more people to join your forum and stay here, abolishing the 'Member Rating' will prove beneficial.Kind regards,Europa
