The Christian God that I worship didn't lose a soul, will still judge you based on what you did do, did not do and what you could have done after you die, doesn't really care whether or not you believe in her, and it will likely offer you a better seat at the table than many "Christians".
Does the Christian God that you worship have a rehab plan for those who fail the first sheep/goats midterm exam?

So my question is, why would God deconvert me?
First off, I believe that God exists...regardless of how people see or do not see Him. My problem is that I tend to assign God favorable attributes. Hence GOD becomes my God.
Question for jar: Why is it comforting to believe that God is so unknowable?
AbE: Or should I rather say that GOD is unknowable??

Obvious Nonsense
I didn't go looking for alternatives I was just standing there in church one day when I noticed what a pile of horse manure it all was.
Why would God do that?
Assuming for the sake of this argument that IF God exists, God exists regardless of human arguments for or against.
One possibility: God was allowing you to freely use your discernment and intellect and to question what you had been taught. Your conclusion was quick and efficient. One question that remains is whether we should bother trying to know and commune with GOD.(In light of our logical conclusions regarding organized religion)

Sorry but don't see how that relates to tangles topic.
Tangle asks why "God" would do something. My question is will we ever know why? Will we ever know God?
(remembering the construct)
Im sure you will now ask why it matters....

The most obvious explanation is that Christianity is an error. Something we humans just made up.
To me, the most obvious explanation is that despite my beliefs, God very well may still exist. He will exist regardless of whether I believe in Him or not, and the only remaining question is what type of relationship (if any) should I prefer to have with Him.
Many atheists than dutifully trot out the spaghetti monster, thor, chutulu, and a host of other human inventions and say that I may as well ask of them also.
I dunno...it never seemed very logical to me to have the hubris to dismiss the possible existence of God simply because humans couldn't get their religious act together. I admit bias for a God to begin with, and assume that incorporated into your logic was a definite bias towards not needing a God anyway.
