Gods that are created in humanity's image display the same weaknesses of character that humanity does. Hardly a surprise.

Agree with subbie. If you look at the Greek pantheon of gods, it is one of the best windows into the nature of the human character. They were deceitful, power-hungry, vindictive, pious and self-righteous. A perfect foil and representation of what humans are like. And exactly what one would expect. They were created in our image, not the other way around.
