Insinuations for a 46 year old
I was invited to MySpace by some teenagers that I know, and i took the opportunity to browse the site and see the verbal and visual world in which (mainly) teenagers project their image and identity to each other.
Of course, MySpace was in the news as a site for predators, and I can see how that would be very real and a potential threat to the young people online there!
After exchanging a couple of letters with my younger friends, I pulled out of MySpace. It is not really of interest to me, but I guess if I were under 25, it would be a way to connect with a virtual community of like minded and same age peers!
Anyone who uses the internet to interact with groups of people needs to exercise caution, guard their personal information, and never be too quick to expand the relationships to include personal meetings!
