Hi subbie, I object to calling it a christian holiday.
I celebrate Christmas and I'm not a Christian.
Likely what you celebrate is yuletide, with the trees decorated, the family and feasts, and the sharing of gifts.
These celebrations have nothing intrinsic to do with christianity, and christianity has nothing to do with the 25th of December to mark it out as a special date to that faith in any way.
It's an ancient festival to celebrate the winter solstice.
