More utter Crap from Buz
I'm sorry Buz but it's pretty obvious that you know as little about history and reality as you do about the Bible and Christianity.
The Puritans were treacherous dishonorable and violent people that had been asked to leave anywhere nice people gathered.
If the US has prospered it is because folk rejected the narrow minded bigotry that was the Puritans.
The US was founded as a secular nation precisely because no one ever wanted to see a Puritan in a position of power.
Secular also does not mean that all religion must be excluded, it means that political decision cannot be made based on one religion or one sects dogma.
I know of NO blessings the US has ever received from Christian Fundies, maybe you can actually provide some evidence for THIS unsupported assertion.

Buz tends to forget that Jesus would be definitely called a Socialist if not a Communist.

The difference is that Jesus's sharing agenda had nothing to do with government, nor was it obligatory. It was totally voluntary and applied only to individuals, his little group of apostles and later to churches.
HUH?
As if not being governmental makes a difference? And voluntary? Hardly.

Governments stepped in to feed the hungry, etc. only after the New Testament Fundie Christians failed to do it. The fact is that you rely on atheists, Roman Catholics, etc. to help you to do what Jesus called on you to to.
In Jesus's day? No.
I'm not denying that non-fundi groups do not help these days. I'm talking by and large, historically. Christian fundi nations have faired better by and large with more freedom and prosperity etc.
Evidence Buz, evidence.
As usual you present no such evidence.

Untrue? Where's your evidence that it's untrue? Most of what you've contributed to this thread are these substance-less repetitive blind assertions.
Jar, you remind me of the laughing hyena, following along the herds of wildebeest, nipping incessantly at their heals, hoping eventually to pounce on one one that slips.
Let me show you how things work Buz, I am always trying to help you.
You said in Message 30

Jar, you post short bare assertion after bare assertion. Get off my back.

I'll try yet again.
How do "New Testament Fundi Christians Bless Atheists, Roman Catholics And Others"?
Evidence Buz, where is the evidence?
Learn a little basic English Buz, asking questions are not assertions. Claiming that when I ask questions that I am making assertion is simply, yet again, untrue.
Again ...How do "New Testament Fundi Christians Bless Atheists, Roman Catholics And Others"?
Evidence Buz, where is the evidence?

Re: Lets define Fundy churches
Also, Christianity during the Colonial Period was certainly not monolithic. Christians definitely feared other Christians far more than other religions. The problem faced was just that, the "Founding Fathers" and actually most educated people living in the colonies, knew that the major cause of war and death in Europe over the preceding couple hundred years was driven to a great extent by Christian Sectarianism, MY Church's Way or the Highway.
They were going to make sure that none of the various sects held power, and in particular, the New England Puritans were feared by just about all.

AbE:
Were the Puritans Fundamentalists Buz?
The Puritans held to many important fundamentals of the NT. However they were not fundamentalist in some respect. Their aspirations were a Puritan theocracy, imposing their Puritanism upon the citizenry. They were, in a sense, tyrannical, executing some who did not adhere to their Puritanism. In short, they were more Puritan than they were Biblically fundamentalist.
The Biblical funamentals that they did promote were a factor in getting America going in the right direction. Thankfully, wiser minds prevailed to eventually weed out the bad aspects of Puritanism for the Colonies.
So they were not Fundamentalists. One down.
The question remains:

Again, some aspects of Puritans were not Biblically fundamental, but the ones which were Biblical fundamental headed the America in the right direction. Some of the Biblical fundamentals of them were significant improvements over those of Anglicans and RC.
And yet again you avoid answering teh questions Buz.

Evidence Buz, where is the evidence?
1. Since fundi Christians are largely messianic, they are one of the greatest factors in the preservation and support of Israel. This involves the promises of Jehovah of blessings on nations supportive to Israel. History appears to support this. [/quote]
Again, evidence Buz. How is that blessing Atheists, Roman Catholics and others?
Buzsaw writes:
2. Fundi Christians are evangelistic, converting many from agnosticism and atheism. Evangelism staves off atheism and agnosticism. History attests to the fact that, for the most part, citizens of secularist nations which have banned Bibles, persecuted fundi Christians and banned fundi evangelical churches have not been free or prosperous.
Again, evidence Buz. For once, try to provide SOME evidence and stop just making unsupported assertions and sill nonsensical crap.
The questions remain!
How do "New Testament Fundi Christians Bless Atheists, Roman Catholics And Others"?

Why should the Fundi Christians not be considered the greatest threat the world faces particularly if as you claim "Since fundi Christians are largely messianic, they are one of the greatest factors in the preservation and support of Israel."?
Are you really so ignorant of the distinction between Israel a Nation and Israel a people?

He seems to have blessed the Arab nations with a lot of oil. Apparently, He supports their policies.
Void of the gospel of Jesus and the fundamentals of the NT, the people live in poverty and oppression. The oil does little for the welfare of the citizenry. Yet how many palatial mansions did Saddam Hussein have. Something like a dozen?
According to the Abrahamic Covenant, they are cursed of Jehovah because they curse Israel. Thus Israel wins the wars regardless of the odds. Prophetically, a coalition of Arab, Russian, North Africa and Eastern Europe will eventually invade Israel at Armageddon, taking part of Jerusalem and ravishing women, etc. Jesus then appears to save a remnant for his kingdom. This is my understanding of Ezekiel 38 and 39 as well as some other prophets like Zechariah and Isaiah. Until then, Israel remains impenetrable nationally. There will be a treaty prophetically.
Again, evidence Buz. For once, try to provide SOME evidence and stop just making unsupported assertions and sill nonsensical crap.

Cause and Effect. The ones blessed happen to live in the nation being blessed of Jehovah because of the constituency in the nation supportive to Israel.
Again, you have no evidence Buz and even your assertion is just plain silly. How are "Atheists, Roman Catholics and others" blessed?

Now it's time for you to show evidence how being messianic relative to Jesus at Jerusalem is the greatest treat to the world. They kill no one. They invade no nation They preach love and the gospel. They tell what governments and Jesus will do to effect that kingdom. That's it. Explain who that threatens and why.
You are the greatest danger the world faces because you believe in the Messianic myths, support Israel, elect crazy people to office, hope for Armageddon. You support Israel's terrorist activities, their occupation of foreign territories and their continued oppression of the Palestinians.
You are a danger to the world because you view the world through your twisted interpretation of the Bible and Christs message.

That's your opinion and nothing more PD. Do you believe in the Abrahamic Covent to which I alluded. Evidently not. Do I have hard evidence that Jehovah exists and that the Abrahamic Covenant, to which Biblical fundies ascribe to, is causational? Likely most here would say no.
Again, here in the Coffee House a lot of conjecture, aspects of the supernatural and assertions get aired. You're trying to hold me, Buzaw, to requirements, ne'er before required. You need to revisit some of the stuff aired in the Coffee Shop.
If you don't agree, give it your best shot. I'm likely going to take issue some of your points. I intend to respond to your previous post, when I get to it, but I'm out of town a lot and very busy these days, so bear with me.
How would even the Armageddon you seem to ascribe to benefit Atheists, Roman Catholics and Others?
Do you even know what the Abrahamic Covenant is and what it promises?
Do you understand the Abrahamic Covenant, that is is unconditional and requires only God to fulfill his part?
Do you understand that Muslims are also covered by the Abrahamic Covenant?
Do you understand that it ONLY applies to life here on earth and is totally unrelated to your Messianic Armageddon?
Have you ever read the Bible?
